    Two Years Later

I shot a new video of the site where Caylee was discovered on December 11, 2008. It’s hard to believe it was two years ago. I really wanted to get this published earlier, but it takes time to edit and upload to YouTube. I hope it’s worth the wait.

Darn, I wrote everything I had to say and it did not stay. I pick up on it later, I guess,

Thank you Dave for going back to Suburban and doing this video to mark the
2 yrs that little Caylee was found. Very sad indeed how close to home she was. You do so much for us and I appreciate it very much.

Thank you, Janet. I can't believe it's been 2 years already. What a terrible shame.

I almost passed on the video, Dave, because it's so sad to remember where she was let alone see it again. But I'm glad I did. I'm left wondering in this day and age of the digital camera where people don't have to pay to have film processed why groups like TES don't require each and every search party to take a still picture or a small video BEFORE going into an area. The way it is there is no documentation of how the area looked right before the remains were found. We are only told it was wet and we were given distance pictures from an arial shot, but nothing up close. I think each search team should in the future have one videographer who's job is to photograph the area before the searchers enter. It would prevent a lot of wrangling by the lawyers.

Rest in peace baby girl. She was way way too little to be laying out there for so long. I hope if, like we think, Casey is proven to have killed her own child she pays for it with life at least.

    Good morning Dave,
I felt like I was in Florida watching this. It is so sad to see this and the reality of it all really hits home when we see the video of where Casey lived to where the body was left. I did enjoy seeing the palm trees and sunshine. It is snowing here and everything is a winter wonderland but I'd rather see sun and palms. I can't wait for this trial to get going and Casey to get locked away for good. I pray that Cindy and George can move on and that Lee will bless them with many more grandchildren. Caylee will never be replaced but other children can help ease the pain and give them something to look forward to.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterPatti O

    Thank you *Dave

I always wondered how close Jim Hoover/Dominic Casey was to the actual site and now I can see that it was very close. There's something to that whole cluster-F with them that just doesn't make any sense to me, but I'm sure at trial it will all come out.

I can't help but think of just how lazy and coldhearted Casey Anthony is to just throw Caylee in those dark, scary, swampy woods. It isn't very far from the road,so she couldn't bury her, and I'm guessing she couldn't go any further because of the water, so she had to have hurried before a car came by. Must have been at night. How could she pull away and leave her there? I wonder who she texted first and what she said to them ?

I'm glad you taped this area again *Dave......Thank you

*Your windshield is not dirty (You should see mine :) )

Thanks for this video Dave.....Casey was probably running on fumes an didnt go far in case she ran out of gas.

Ha! Your windshield is cleaner than our truck's-and my hubby smokes. I think he only cleans it once a year whether it needs it or not.

Thanks for how you worded your venture. It surely did change lives. I'd like to believe that Roy Kronk would do it again knowing what he knows now.

A year from now Caylee will have her justice.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterSherry

I'm glad you didn't pass on the video, Connie, because it will probably be the last one. At least, for a long time.

TES founder, Tim Miller, said the organization spent over $100,000 searching for Caylee. That's an awful lot of money, but a human life is worth much more than that. Sure, it would be nice if each searcher had a camera, or at least the team leader, but just imagine how much money that would cost. I think it's a great idea. Maybe you should pass it on to Tim. I'd be happy to put something up on the blog linking to his site. I'm sure others who write about the case would like to help, too.

Yes, Caylee was way too little and young to die.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

Good morning, Patti O - There's a big difference between yesterday's weather and today's. It's windy and rain is beckoning. That will bring a drop in temperatures around the state, so I'm glad you felt like you were with me yesterday, which was perfect weather to shoot a video.

I think you're right. Lee and Mallory can help bring some much needed peace to that family. Caylee will never be forgotten, but it would help.

    Thanks.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

    Thank you, Diana -

I know there's a rumor going around that Cindy and/or Jose Baez told Dominic Casey to place Jesse Grund's DNA on the remains if she was found. Sorry, I don't believe it and the reason why has nothing to do with trusting anyone. If this were the case, Dominic would not have called Jim Hoover at all, let alone ask him to document the whole thing on video.

Yup, whoever threw that body in the woods is cold-hearted and vain. Gee... who does that describe?

Oh yes, the windshield... It sure didn't look like that in real life. The camera picked up stuff that's not seen by the naked eye.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

Yup, ecossie possie, it's too bad her car didn't run out of gas right there at the spot where Caylee was found. That would have solved a lot of problems. Such is life.

Thank you. I'm glad you liked the video. It's sad, though.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

Hi, Sherry, thank you - I most assuredly believe that Roy Kronk would do it all over again because it would help bring closure to everyone, including us. If he weren't so persistent, we might never know for sure. Roy contributed a lot toward justice for that little angel.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

    Dave,
I really appreciate all the time you spend to keep all of us informed, up to date, and sometimes entertained.
The PI's Hoover & D. Casey went to look for Caylee near the "pavers" for a reason. They knew to look for the "pavers". Viewing your new video, I am wondering with the close proximity of the pavers to where Caylee's body was found, if the area by the pavers is exactly where Casey put Caylee? With the smell of the body, some animal may have dragged the bag to the spot she was found, or the high water may have washed the body to another area.
I do notice the behavior of my dogs (Golden Retrievers) when they steal something, like a steak off the counter, or a stuffed animal or a roll of toilet paper, hey always run off with it first, before they eat the steak, or destroy the pillow or shred TP.

IMO, I really feel that Casey told Baez where the body was, and the PI's went to the exact spot near the pavers, to remove and hide the remains. Can you imagine what they must have thought when there was no body at that spot? Wishful thinking, but maybe severe thunderstorms will happen during the trial, and the area is again under water for the jurors to examine.

    December 12, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterOldCarGal

Dave~~It sure looks dismal in those woods now. I did not realize the vegetation died off so much in Florida. I am glad you walked down and pointed out those pavers and where Dominic Casey was searching. I honestly think that he was sent there to try and find Caylee's remains and it was NOT a psychic who was giving him directions. I am thankful that Dominic was not successful as the outcome of him finding Caylee may have been so much different. I wonder what instructions he had been given if he found the remains. For him to go so very close to the actual spot, makes one wonder. Did Casey finally fess up to Baez or Cindy where she put Caylee? I can almost hear Cindy making a pact with Casey, "tell us where she is and we will forgive you and help you."

It seems fate sent Roy Kronk back to that site. He should be hailed as a hero instead of being drug through the wringer. When Kronk went into those woods to relieve himself, there was no way that the children at the school could have seen him. I remember he was accused of being a pervert for taking a leak so close to the school.

I noticed the streets around Suburban were relatively quiet for a Saturday, definitely not much traffic. Casey could have gone to those woods in the middle of the day to dispose of Caylee and never be detected. Your video brings the reality of the events that must have taken place. It is still hard to grasp that a mother could be so cold and callous as to dump the lifeless body of her own flesh and blood and the one she gave birth to , in a trash heap infested by snakes.

Dave, had you not pointed out that your windshield was dirty, we would never have noticed. It looked fine to me. I know you are a perfectionist.

Thank you for puttig up this video. You know which video I found the most compelling with regards to
Casey disposing of Caylee. This one is somber and hope it will be the final one as we strive to bring closure to this case and, God willing, Caylee will finally have justice in the spring. You have a big heart, Dave, and it shows in all you do for Caylee and for those of us, who have learned to love a little girl taken much too soon.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

Hi, OldCarGal - The problem with your theory is that the animals would have had to drag the bags and bones together, through those woods, which were filled with all sorts of vegetation. That would prove to be impossible. The tree where the body was dumped was where it was placed to begin with. Had it not been for Kronk taking a pee, I mean peek, in the woods, it would have been a perfect hiding place. With so much shrub in there, it's not like carting off a steak and taking it into the living room. That terrain proved impossible. The animal(s) would need to lift the bags, contents intact, and drag it 175 feet.

I don't believe Casey ever told Baez a thing. I think she is going to maintain her innocence until the bitter end, and beyond. Even today, the area where the PIs looked is overgrown with brush. This is December. If you look at the video I shot in June, you'd see what I mean.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

Hi, Snoopy - We had a freeze last week and that killed a lot of the vegetation. In November 2008, when the PIs were there, life was still quite evident. I don't think D. Casey knew anything per se, but if I had lived in that neighborhood, I would have thought about those woods as an obvious place to look. However, I probably would have passed over the precise spot because of its inhospitable surroundings. That area of the woods is downright nasty.

You're right, children at the school would not be able to see him there. The vehicle would have kept him out of view, too, because it was parked in the shade, just east of where he poked his head.

The street is quiet on weekends because there's no action going on at the school and there's little reason to drive on a road that deadends. I didn't see one car drive by. In June, when the state alleges the body was placed there, school was out for the summer. The house across the street, where you could hear children and the mother waved, was filled with cops back then, so her neighbors told her. She's only lived there for a few months, but I'm sure the police wanted to know if anyone saw anything from that house and back yard. No one has said anything about that. Hmm, I wonder...

Yes, my winshield is still dirty, but it's now too cold to go out and clean it. It was 72 degrees F, but it dropped quickly to 59. It can stay dirty for now. Thank you for your compliment. I won't have to go down there again unless someone twists my arm. I've shot plenty of footage now. I am convinced Caylee will have justice next year, and it will be about time.

Snoopy as you stated your list of collateral damage is not complete. It has always from the beginning amazed me at the amount of people that have been damaged by the Anthony's and this case. Dave, Good video at this time of year. I am surprised to see how dry it in there. Do the seasons differ in Florida, like your rain come earlier, etc. Elsewhere, this is what we call winter months with rains, etc. Your rainy season must start a couple months earlier. When you are taking the pictures of where Caylee's remains lay at the base of that tree, approximately how many feet from where you are standing and how many feet approximately would Roy Kronk have been when he first viewed an object which he did not go near as opposed to when he saw the Skull of Caylee. He must have been pretty much on the spot when he lifted the bag and the skull came out, or did he stand back and use a longer branch, etc. When the area was under water what distance would you guess you could have been from where she was lying. There has been opinion that Casey could not have thrown Caylee at 30 lbs weight very far out into the woods. I'm useing you as both Casey and Roy Kronk, both having been right where you stood in regards to how far they were from Caylee at their times. Hope you understand what I am asking. PS I did not see anything on your windshield.

    December 12, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterNew Puppy

Ok Dave I went to the TES site and submitted the suggestion. It wouldn't cost anything, just "if you have a camera capable of taking date stamped photos bring it" then the pictures could be downloaded to their computer when the search cards are turned in each day.

I don't think your windshield was dirty, just maybe the camera lens lol.

This time next year this will be all over. It's just so sad there are people out there who would hurt their own child or move a complete stranger into their house to help with expenses without checking them out first thus putting their children in danger.

Hey Dave, What a wonderful and loving tribute you have done with this video. It is chilling to see the spot. There were plenty of lives changed forever in this case. As for Dave...........His life has been forever changed by the events of this case, yes. But I feel my own life has changed by the events that put Dave's name out there. I have been intrigued by this case since the call made by Cindy Anthony. When Dave's name came up in the case, I found myself glued to the pc and Marinade Dave's site. After reading and reading and reading, I decided that this was a true and honest site to follow the case and what a travesty it was to see Dave be used by Jose' baez to rid himself of the first judge. I also got a chance to not only include myself in conversation but to talk a bit about my own family and the hardships of diabetes. (Among other things) Snoopy Sleuth, Peggy, Ecossie Possie, and so many others offered praise and positive comments and made me feel like I was a very lucky person and that life was good. How lucky I DO feel that I found myself at this site all because of that. Dave, you have such a talent and are so compassionate! Snoopy.....you told me in a comment how faith can move mountains.........I THINK OF THAT EVERY MORNING! Justice WILL prevail and THANKYOU for changing my life forever.

Hmm, New Puppy... Good questions. I hope I can answer them correctly. Last year this time, we didn't experience a freeze, so I suspect the foliage was more alive then, and as we witnessed from footage from Dec. 11, 2008, it was more lush then, too. Generally, December is a dry month, but the cooler weather isn't enough to kill plant life. This is an unusual winter. That one freeze did it. Our rainy season begins in May, usually.

From the curb to due south at the base of the tree is 19'8" according to LE documents. It is 87' east of the light pool near the privacy fence. That was the reference point. Where I think Kronk went in and looked to his right at that tree was probably 30' or so. There was brush in there, too, so I don't know how much obscured his view, but he obviously saw something that caught his attention. When he entered the woods in December, he took his meter rod and poked around. At no time did he touch anything with his bare hands. There he stood, right on top of the bags. He knew right away who it was. We all did when we heard the news that day, especially down here.

I, too, find it difficult to believe Casey could have tossed that much weight. She (if she did it) had to have carried the bags into the woods and placed them under that tree. From the curb, straight down in would have been impossible. There is a much better chance that the low-lying woods at that site were wet, but not flooded. She may have worn sneakers that got muddy, which she may have cleaned well or discarded. One other possibility was that the foliage became matted by her footsteps and acted as a buffer between the sole and the mud. To be honest, it could have been more dry than wet in there in June of that year. Yesterday's video was later in the day than when Kronk went near those woods, all 4 times. He was there during a morning break; I was there around 3 in the afternoon, and you can see the bright sun in my video as I turned the camera toward that tree. It would have been darker when he looked, and more lush with vegetation.

There, I hope that explains it. If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Thank you!

Good, Connie, I'm glad you did that. Who knows? It would be nice if some wealthy benefactor took up your idea and helped TES out.

    December 12, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

What caught my interest in this case was the question "how can a baby go missing for 30 days and no one notice?" It's still mind boggling to me how Casey could live in Cindy's house, have a supposed nanny who has a name and number supposedly but in 30 days Cindy never once tried calling it. I sure would have! I think any grandmother who's daughter went to work one day and didn't return for a month would have! And to see how many people have aped this ridiculous ploy since then. Baby Gabriel, Haleigh Cummings among others. Ridiculous!

What caught my interest in you Dave was watching you being called up to Judge Strickland's bench the first time before everything blew up. I thought you were a golfing buddy or something. What brought me to the blog was the blow up. Like others I wanted to see what all the todo was about and discovered someone who could give me a better insight to what was going on than I was able to form on my own.

So thank you for that, Dave. Keep up the good work!

New Puppy, it's always a good time to explain things like distances and such. No one can remember everything. All of Casey's shoes were tested. That was a pair of shoes in the car and the pairs in her bedroom closet. All test results were negative. That is also something that's weird about this case. How could she get away with no direct evidence? The closest is the extremely rare duct tape that was found on her skull that matched the tape in the Anthony's garage. Of course, there's lots of evidence, but it's mostly circumstantial.

OK, I'm your sweetheart today. Thank you.

Beautiful video, Dave. Sad, somber- it feels more like a funeral service to me. It appears the scars on the land made by meticulous searches all those days have healed now. The scars on the hearts of all those directly & indirectly involved - well, who knows if it will ever heal, huh?. Caylee is loved and missed. She will never be forgotten. I pray her legacy will be that anyone who sees things happening that are not quite right will be bold enough to make a lot of noise and, like Roy Kronk, keep checking until there is a resolution. Better to lose a "friend" than to lose another Caylee Marie.

    Hi Dave

Thank you for doing a video touring the Suburban Drive area and where they found little Caylee's remains. It is good to visit the places Caylee knew. They say that you are never really dead until the last person on earth has forgotten your name. Caylee's name will not be forgotten for a long time.
