You want Orders with those Fryes?

My first post is now published on Orlando magazine’s Website. Titled, You want Orders with those Fryes?, it addresses the Frye motions Judge Perry ruled on yesterday. Please stop by and say hello. It will be my new digs for the next two months or so, because I am now an “on assignment” reporter for orlandomagazine.com.

Of course, that doesn’t mean I’ll be neglecting my blog. My home is my home and my friends are my friends and that will never change.

What a proud moment this is for you! I am so proud of you! I love the title of this article. You have such a great way with words. This is a great article and a very good way to start off at the Orlando Magazine. I am sure that all of your readers and commenter's will be as proud of you as I am. I am sure you will be bringing lots of new readers to the magazine.

Thank you very much, Mary Jo!

    Ditto!!! Great work!!! Terrific article.

Thank you, Marsha. I spent some time writing it, too. The editor is very pleased.

    Dave,

I tried to post this comment on the Orlando Magazine Site but it wouldn't let me.

Your blog post was outstanding as usual. I am looking forward to reading all of your comments about the case and the trial. I think that Orlando Magazine was especially fortunate to get you to do this blog series for them. You make things so clear and easy to understand.

Do you think that Casey has any concept of what is going on in her case now or any idea of the seriousness of her situation?

    Amber

Hi Amber - Thank you for your comment, here and there. The magazine comments are moderated because of previous problems with trolls. They will eventually be released, so yours will show up soon, I'm sure. I'm very thankful they saw something in me and I wanted to start it off with a good post. I'm already working on other things, so I will be pretty busy from now on.

To be honest, I don't think Casey has a clue about what she's up against. I think she doesn't want to think about what she's facing, so she doesn't, plain and simple.

Actually, I'm hoping the comments get published soon because I want to establish a base over there.

    Hi Dave & Everyone,

I'm ahead of you or myself for once! Already been over to OM to read your article and
congratulate you, but I can surely do it here at home too! Proud to be part of this well deserved opportunity Mr. Knechel!

(See I can spell your last name...lol)

    {{Huggz}}

Thank you, Redrelaxed. I'm just as proud to have you as part of my opportunity, and I hope I can make each post better and better. Yes, you DO know how to spell my last name. One of the few.

    Hugs back at you!

Outstanding job as usual Dave. It is painfully obvious that the defense is in a desperation mode. LOL

yes, painfully obvious now, especially after the judge's rulings yesterday.

Thank you for enjoying my first post on OM. I hope to have many more!

    April 27, 2011 | Unregistered Commentersouthernlace

Dave~~ Where you have 'Click Here To Read His Posts', I clicked on the end of your nose instead, Could you feel it? It took me to OM.

It is a great article and I left a comment... I cannot wait until they release them from moderation.

I don't need to tell you how proud Old Snoop is of your accomplishments. That has been a known for some time.

Thank you, Snoopy. I hope the comments are released soon, too. Good thing the picture of me is from the waist up, huh?

I'm very thankful OM gave me an opportunity to write. I just hope my posts improve because I want them to see what I am capable of doing.

I'd like to see the comments show up, too. I don't want to just have them here when my post is up over there.

    April 27, 2011 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

Maybe the off the cuff chit chat here and the serious comments on the topic of your article be made at OM... sounds good!

Yes, that sounds like the right thing to do.

This is what I posted at OM:

Hey Dave, Congratulations on your first blog here on the OM. I am so happy that the first one is about the rulings that Judge Perry came out with yesterday. It is perfect that the first one deals with these amazing rulings. I am sure the Defense is reeling from the news, it could not have been a good day for them. I do hope that the rest of the ruling's will have the same result, especially the one about Dr. Vass. How amazing that it could be the first one in the country. This can lead to so many rulings from now on, and so many cases can hopefully be helped by this new process.

You have hit a home run on your first article. Your amazing journalistic abilities shine through. I am so proud of you, you are so deserving of this. I look forward to reading your many articles about the case. You did good Dave.

Thank you, Peggy. I finally saw your comment at the magazine site. Something's going to have to be done with moderation. Meanwhile, I really like your comment about hitting a home run and all. That's a mighty fine thing to say, and it's much appreciated.

So great to see you sitting on the pages of Orlando Magazine. I don't know if I can keep looking into your eyes though. You are looking right back at us like we better behave, or I'll spank!

I kind of like it, too, New Puppy. Thank you very kindly. Fortunately, I've never been a spanking kind of guy, but I'm always open to new things. To be honest with you, I'm not at all worried about my friends misbehaving, so I won't have to turn anyone over my knee.

    April 27, 2011 | Registered CommenterNew Puppy

hiya dave... fantastic news and fantastic writing and explanation as always.. so delighted for you and orlando magazine.. they are truly lucky to have you on board.. keep up the good work and i look forward to your next post.. best of luck from lil ole ireland .. take care, cinta :) tried to post on other blog but it wont recognise my email r something ..

Hi cinta! How nice to hear from you all the way from Ireland. It's always a pleasure when you stop in. Until commenting over on the magazine site is straightened out, they are going to sit in moderation. What I would do is I'd comment there, copy it, and paste it over here because we are used to commenting back and forth and sitting there tucked away is no help. Anyway, thank you and something tells me my next post will have to go up tomorrow.

You know Dave, there is one issue that concerns me and probably quite a few, with the defense team up in arms about everything concerning the remains how do you figure the State knew ahead of time whose remains they were...up to that point everyone, included the Anthony's, were looking for a live Caylee??

Hi BMan - There are several factors to consider, actually. The most obvious is that the remains were discovered so close to the Anthony home. The clothing appeared to belong to a female (pink, not blue) and no other child was missing from the area other than Trenton Duckett, but the problem there was that the bones were not in the woods for nearly as long as Duckett had been missing. In other words, the skeleton was not old. Duckett disappeared 2 years before Caylee. That would mean the bones would have shown signs of aging in the woods after a few seasons. Unfortunately, poor Cindy still seems to believe Caylee is alive. At least part of her still feels that way.

Believe it or not, Sgt. Allen told me that over 100 law enforcement personnel continued to search for Caylee all around the country until December 11, 2008. They never gave up hope until then, despite the odds being against finding her alive.

Great article Dave - As the trial gets closer the more nervous I get. I just hope all goes well during the trial but i imagine Judge Perry is ready for anything.
I heard the air test/chloroform ruling came out late today - Is that true or just people hoping.?
If the jury is picked from up this way then do come and stay here. Would love to have you.

Thanks Nika1. I might take you up on that one. As a matter of fact, I'm sure I will. I like it up there. Gainesville is a very friendly town.

Yes, it's true, the chloroform will stay in. Slowly, this defense is sinking into quicksand and I see no way out, so I wouldn't get too nervous. Not yet, anyway. I knew it was a huge mistake when Mason let his ego get in the way. The recusal motion was pure stupidity, plain and simple.

Another fine article by our friend, Dave Knechel!!!! Forget what a great human being we all think you are, your articles are the best hands down!
I was right there to be one of the first to enjoy your first article at OM. I joined, commented(strictly on the article) and then it was the waiting game. I understand the moderation thing and it is for the best for all of us. Patience is virtue!
Ya know? It's like the first steps your child takes, the graduation of your siblings, the wedding of your nieces and nephews. We're all so proud! Today was the first article for OM, it is my sister's birthday, and my mother and father's anniversary! I couldn't be more proud of my family. My family here, and my Dave and the Marinaders family.
NOW..........Let's get down to business!!! Trial is a comin....................

Hi SageMom - What a refreshing comment! Birthdays, anniversaries and baby steps. All positive events. Thank you so much. You have a lovely family and we are a great family of friends. I am proud of all of us.

    Hi Dave

If at first you don't succeed, try again. I went back to Orlando Magazine and they had a lot of comments but not mine. I found out that you have to establish an account and log in to comment. So I established an account and logged in and left a comment which is now in moderation. I really like your blogs, I hope (and I believe) that Orlando Magazine will get a lot of new accounts since your blog started there.

    Amber

Hi Amber - I think a lot of comments are still hung up over there and they will be that way until tomorrow. I should be able to get in soon - if the logistics work out. Until then, I would suggest to keep commenting over there and copy and paste it here. I understand the back and forth banter we get here and I'd like to have some form of that there, but it's like breaking something new in. It'll take a little time to work out the kinks. Meanwhile, thank you for liking my blog posts and I really hope a lot of new readers are attracted to the magazine.

Bill Sheaffer on Today's Ruling on the Chloroform

Judge Perry's Order on the Chloroform

BTW, they have the date that the defense filed the motion re the chloroform wrong. They put Dec 30, 2011. I hope they notice and amend it.

    April 27, 2011 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

Dave, I just learned that Dr Vass will be able to give his opinion at the trial re the chloroform. That is if I read it correctly in Judge Perry's Order.

OM is going to have to let us out of moderation. They will have to realize that we love to comment about this case around the clock.

Does anyone think that the defense will be literally begging the state to offer up some plea bargaining? I have a feeling that this trial may be over before it begins.

You're right, Snoopy. I've got to convince them that we are blog stalwarts. We comment profusely. I will be talking to Mike tomorrow to see if there's anything we can do.

I still don't think the defense will ever cave in, but it sure looks bad right now. A lot of evidence is pointing at that trunk. And because of these rulings, the state will not offer any type of deal. Why should they? This looks like a piece of cake that's getting a fresh coat of icing.

Congratulations on a great post - thoroughly enjoyed it. And also, what a nice milestone - first article published in the new gig turned out to be about such an important/interesting topic. I'm happy for you.

Thank you, Kay. I'm certainly happy you enjoyed it, and yes, it is a milestone. I'm humbled, actually. This is a good thing.

I don't know why your e-mail won't work over there, it works here when you login. Try it again, and if it still doesn't work, you may have to create one at gmail or Yahoo! Let me know and if you need any help, I'm right here, ecossie.

Ecossie~~maybe Dave can try and figure out how you can comment there. Did you try and comment just using Anonymous? We have people from all over the UK, Australia, Europe etc make comments. I don't know what kind of a setup Orlando Magazine has but Dave can find out.

Ecossie, I take it that in your youth, when on a date, you always carried a feather to tickle the young lady's fancy.

I just posted the following at OM. I guess it is better to put up with being held in moderation rather than let the bashers get thru. I expect they have bombarded the place.

I am not sure that the state will use the heart shaped residue on the duct tape at the trial. The last thing they want to do is overload the jury with too much information.

The defense filed motions to exclude the most damning evidence against Casey when, in actuality showed the best cards. They might have known that their motions would be denied. Judge Perry is not stupid. By the defense wanting to exclude the heart sticker residue, therefore, they must have figured that there was a heart sticker put on the tape that was layered over Caylee's airways. I realize that the defense are more or less obligated to file all these motions but, in doing so, they are losing the poker game by exposing their hand. I think Cheney Mason has run out of Aces up his sleeve. Baez never had any to begin with.

I often wonder what Casey writes on all those notes. Maybe she made a list, I want this and this and this thrown out of evidence. Casey is the boss so Mason and Baez nod in agreement.

I imagine someone, a stamp collector or the like, would pay a lot of money for Casey's doodles. An author could write a book by filling in the cracks. It could be called The Diary of a Mad Woman.

    greetings from Luxembourg

Thank you, Rita! It's great to see you. I'm glad you have a lot of faith in me. I won't let you down. By the way, is the Royal Wedding as big where you are as it is in the States? I was tired of it before it all started.

Congratulations Dave on your first article and very well done it is. You are a great writer and you will do a wonderful job at the OM and I will be looking forward to reading more from you once the trial starts. I do feel that there will be justice for Caylee now that a lot of the evidence is being allowed in. Have a great day!

What a nice thing to read this morning, Janet. Thank you very much. You know, with the latest court rulings, There's plenty to write about, so I should have a new post up on the magazine site soon. Yes, justice is coming. You have a great day, too.

    April 28, 2011 | Registered CommenterJanet

WOW, another blow to the Defense, the chloroform is in as well as Dr. Vass' sweet machine. I can't even imagine what the Defense is thinking now. Oh wait, yes I do "what now can we throw at the wall". I was surprised that the tattoo was not admitted but with so much evidence it probably does not matter.

Looking forward to your next blog on OM Dave, you have so much to work with. With the trial starting in less than two weeks you are going to be one busy man. Get as much rest as you can; glad you are feeling better.

    April 28, 2011 | Registered CommenterPeggy222

Peggy, I don't think the defense has anything left to throw at the wall. I think JP will deny this last motion. I am sure the defense will file another motion for him to reconsider like they have with the others and he will deny those too. I am looking forward to Monday's hearing. We have been waiting so long for this trial and now it is only days away.

I set up an account at Orlando Magazine just in case I want to comment over there in the future. Keep up the good work.

Sorry to see some of the trolls have shown up at the OM site. However, if OM is just looking at "web hits", I guess that can be a good thing since there seems to be so many of them.

Hi Susan - Every time a troll goes in to comment, they are adding hits, so I won't complain. Besides, the comments they are adding are soft-core. Exceedingly mild by their standards. Did I say standards? They don't have any.

Thank you for subscribing. Once the glitch is figured out, I should be able to go into each comment to respond. Some, of course, will be better off left alone.

By the way, a new post should be up soon.

    Hi Dave
Royal wedding was huge here, with Tv broadcast but I took a day off to spend with my kids & husband and we did not watch the full ceremony - shame on me! my girls were amazed to see the prince & the princess get married like in a Disney movie LOL. Here in Luxembourg we have the grand Duke and people are really respectful to his family.
I have faith in you and I'm sure I will be able to follow the trial thanks to you. Many thanks for your good job and have a nice day!

Thanks, Rita. I'm about to leave to attend the hearing this morning, but I did want to say hello!
