    Where I have been lately

I have been doing some design work. That’s not all. For the past few days, someone has hacked into many of my e-mail accounts. This has been very trying, because I would be working on something when a window opens announcing that I have logged out. Huh? No, I didn’t, and as I tried to log back in, my password was changed. When I tried to answer my security questions, it worked or it didn’t work, depending on who was accessing my account at the other end at that precise moment. As I tried to change my security questions, my password would suddenly change again and I was locked out. I use about a half dozen e-mail accounts depending on my work or for personal reasons. I don’t need to explain that.

I contacted Yahoo! a number of times to walk me through it. Meanwhile, I updated my IC3 report. This afternoon, I was working on something and that scary window popped up again. Someone had gotten into my rocketmail account, the one I set up to replace marinadedave@yahoo after it was hacked. When I was finally able to access the account - and had successfully changed the security questions - the hacker deleted ALL of my mail, incoming and sent. I still had lots of e-mails I needed to answer, like submissions sent from this Squarespace account located on the lower left sidebar.

This time, I contacted Yahoo! to register a formal complaint, but mostly to find out if my deleted messages could be restored. Yes, they can be! Great news, and I await that. The woman on the other end gave me a a case number and told me to contact my local law enforcement. I did just that. She also said that whoever did it can be found because of the algorithms they utilize, regardless of anonymous proxies. I will meet with a deputy tomorrow and pursue this as far as I can take it. Also, I will not be discussing this issue again, at least not until it is resolved.

Clearly, the baldaintbeautiful crowd continues to elevate the sordid activity against me. Just be careful out there. In essence, this was like walking into my house after being away and finding every piece of furniture stolen. Only this time, it crosses state lines, and that makes it federal.

Until the mess is straightened out, please e-mail me via the submission form located on the bottom of the left sidebar.

I want to say thank you to everyone who's commented. I have a case number and LE has subpoena power to collect evidence. If they are stupid enough to think I wouldn't dare go to the police, they are plenty dumber than any of us already knew they were. There is nothing on my hard drive to hide. They are fools to think otherwise.

Dave- be strong. Best to you and your family. Don't let this rain on your parade.. by the way Calendars left NY and are on there way to you! .

    Dave,
I am so glad you are pushing this issue and Karma is on her way, isn't she? The one thing I think is so important to say is.......Don't forget to take the best of care of yourself! The diabetes should be first on your list of things to take care of. I have no doubt that justice will serve when it comes to these miscreants. I am here at Marinade Dave EVERY NIGHT, excited to read the happenings of your court visits and your knowledge of the case. I would be so sad if I didn't get the chance to read your posts each night. I have enjoyed this sight as much as my Wally Lamb books or my Edgar Guest poetry. Please take care of yourself so us "Marinaders" have a place to go each night and be given true and informative posts. Thanks Dave! Justice is coming!!!!

Well at least they didn't tell you you had to wait for the physical assault! I imagine you've checked your computer - especially the one you have problems with - for programs you didn't download?. I'm wondering if it's your account that's been hacked into or a keylogger or something like it downloaded to your computer. I had problems with my computer once and had someone in San Francisco sit with me while he put something on my system that gave him control of it to help fix the problem. He told me to leave it on in case something else happened and I didn't.. I removed it immediately. But that comes to mind every time you mention someone hacking into your email. I do know Yahoo logs you out immediately sometimes and sometimes not when you log into mail while in messenger also, but it doesn't delete your emails. I hope going to the police helps, and I seriously hope they get into the offending party's computer and finds child porn or something on it!

Dave~~as you can see, you have many honest and caring people who support you. I can guarantee you that things WILL change for the better. I have a feeling that someone is taking a hammer at their computer tower....too late.

Good move Dave, I hope the results come fast and hard for all those who have brought so much interference to your blog.

Hope your computer feels better soon Dave! It may have caught an ugly virus or worm. Are the babbettes the female babbers? I don't really think there is a brain amongst them.

If I were you Dave, I would keep all info regarding the progress of this hack attack under wraps...keep `em guessing...take them by surprise...then head in for the kill :)

What I gave the police was something no one can dispute. I changed one of the password questions on an e-mail account to 'What is your oldest cousin's name?'

Soon after, this person of interest came to my WP blog after searching for 'Dave Knechel's cousin.' I still have that log. So do the police. They also have a name.

Dave, you did the right thing by going to LE with this. Enough is enough and something needs to be done so they stop all of this. You do have many people standing behind you that appreciate all that you do for us. We all look forward to your writing. I hope that you find out soon who is doing this and it can be put behind you so that you can get back to what you do best, and that is writing.

I am sorry Dave that you are going through this, once again. I wonder if they will be happy with everything they have done when hopefully something does happen and this all ends for you. I am sure they think they are invincible but they can not continue to act the way they do and nothing happens to them. I hope that this all comes to an end and I am sure you hope it is sooner rather than later.

Get 'em, Dave. it's illegal to hack into email accounts. Period.

    Off topic, but,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS. K! Happy anniversary to both of you! It was an absolute pleasure speaking to you Papa K!

Dave, I don't know how to cut and paste here, but I'd so like to dedicate Kenny Rogers' "Through the Years" to your parents. It was such a delight talking to your father. He sounds like a truly wonderful man. Tell him I said thank you for being so gracious, and I thank you as well, for being the same.

More on topic, the babbers sure are exposing themselves for the hatemongers they are, aren't they?

Hey Dave, As I read thru your post, it felt good to see the number of people that are willing to write their support of you. Please never doubt that ppl out in cyber land do appreciate and support you.

Dave, I am so sorry to hear that the situation has escalated. You don't deserve this. Those idiots must be so very insecure and they obviously have no lives of their own. They're like bullies in a playground. Don't these people have anything better to do with their time? Keep your chin up and be diligent with your follow-up with law enforcement.

Take care of yourself, and I will keep you in my prayers.

It's quite apparent they don't have lives outside of blogging about me, Snoopy and others who read and comment here. What a sad commentary it is when adults behave far worse than children.

Thanks, Carmen, that's very sweet of you.
