This won't be a Friday Happy Hour

I spoke to a rather powerful attorney earlier today. This person told me that when a judge schedules a hearing for 4:00, 4:30. 5:00 or 6:00 on a Friday afternoon, of all dates and times, it means the judge is not particularly happy with something that’s going on. It’s written in stone and you can bank on it. I asked if this meant Casey’s defense, and I was told, no, this goes for both sides. The two sides should have been able to work things out without getting the court involved. Since the court must intervene, I would expect to hear some sort of reprimanding that will include both sides of the aisle.

Friday afternoon at 5:00 pm should be a hideous wake up call. The judge is losing his patience. He’s already told everyone that if he needs to step in, they won’t appreciate the hours he sets. I mean, who wants to be in court after hours on a Friday afternoon? Right… No one, including the judge.

I will write about the experience. It should be interesting.

I guess no one can log in? I sure couldn't... Hey! It just worked! Don't know what I was doing wrong.

I was like YES YES YES!!!! You go Judge Perry!!! He'll show them the right way of doing things. I wondered how long it would take him to get ticked. He seems to be very patient.

We will be watching for you, Dave. If Mason happens to speak, take notes so will know what he said. I can hear the judge and Ashton just fine but not so for Mason. Hearing Baez is not too bad.
Anyhoo...see you in the courtroom and will be looking forward to your write up. I wonder if Cindy and George will interrupt their supper hour to attend. Things should be interesting...

Yes, Snoopy, I'll try to listen to Mason. I'm heading out...

GO GO GO DAVE, I am so glad you are nearby. Can't wait for fireworks. Be careful though, don't want anything happening to you. Can't wait for your report. THANKS!!!

I am 3 hours behind you and still am late in knowing what goes on. It has gotta' be my fault
Just thinking that the court employees that have to work over are not going to be happy
about this either and will let the attorneys know.
Never good to have the people who actually get things done for you to be ticked off.

    Hello Dave and all!
Does anyone know if tonight's hearing will be streamed online?

As for both sides catching the wrath of Belvin Perry....I hope not. It seems apparent to me that Jeff Ashton maintained a professional demeanor throughout the emails exchanged between him and Jose Baez....of course there are some redactions we couldn't see that could have been snarky.....darn it! I suppose he could have begged......LOL If Baez knew they were going to seek in camera inspection he should have just said so and I hope Perry tells him just that..

Thanks for attending this hearing, Dave. I will be watching to see what JP says and does. I look forward to reading your insight to what went on during the hearing that we weren't able to see or hear. I hope that he does his reprimanding to the defense since Baez thinks he doesn't have to play by the rules.

Dave, I'll be watching Snoopy's link and looking for you! Thank you so much for being the eyes and ears at these hearings. Boy, if I lived any closer to FL I'd be joining you. MI is too far away. Right now I'd also love a little of the more moderate FL climate. It's freezing cold and gray here. :-(

Judge Perry keeping them waiting.....uh oh

    December 10, 2010 | Registered Commenterkatfish

    Ooooooh!!! This is GOOD!!!

    December 10, 2010 | Registered CommenterCarole

Bless Judge Perry!! He did it good!! He is in no mood for any more of Beaz's dragging feet. He laid it out in black and white just what is required information that must be supplied by both sides, as to what their experts willl testify about, and then some!!
Can't wait to read Dave''s report. It will be a doooozie!!!

Judge Perry is more than a "class act.". Wow!

    December 10, 2010 | Registered CommenterNewbie

I like that, Judge Perry made sure he knew wHo was going to have the most homework after he ruled :)

    December 10, 2010 | Registered Commenterkatfish

Judge Perry is not a happy camper and you could see how hard it was to keep calm with every move he made. I think Baez was shaking in his boots, he didn't dare ask for anything else. A couple of times Casey looked at Baez,he rolled his head looking like a dummy. Judge Perry definitely has Baez number. Happy hour is over. I barely saw Dave and poof, he was gone. Can't wait for his response.

one more thing Dave , did you notice Baez using one of Caseys favorite phrase " a huge waste of time". Birds of a feather ,flock together.

Judge Perry's sweet and direct when busting balls and his nervous little knee was working overtime.....gotta luv that guy! Whereas BOZO acts like a bratty child. Can't wait for the egg on his face when Casey's sentenced to death!

    December 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSydney

Good catch margaret ! " A Huge waste of time" is a well known Caseyism and it blew right past me. he he "Absolutely"

    December 10, 2010 | Registered Commenterkatfish

Typical Baez smirking the whole while. And, ofcourse, its all Ashton's fault! We shall see if Baez complies this time.

    December 10, 2010 | Registered CommenterSherry

Is it true that Baez dropped out of high school? Later got his GED.
What law school did he attend? How did he place, 1st, last at his school upon graduation? How did he earn his living after high school until he passed the bar?

I will get up tomorrow morning and write about the hearing. There will be a couple of things I observed that won't show up in a news report, one in particular. It was worth the trip down there despite it being a short one. Trust me, I wasn't in the mood for an all nighter and neither was the judge.

    December 10, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

Dave~ ~are you going to title your post, 'I spied with my little eye...'? One never knows what will come out of that quill of yours, once you apply it to the parchment. The hearing was definitely a quickie but me thinks it carried alot of weight. I do love Judge Perry!! Well, almost as much as I love Stan.

    December 10, 2010 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

It won't be a very long post, that's for sure, but it should be a worthwhile one, I hope.

    December 10, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

I'm glad that it was brief and to the point. I like that. From what I hear, Casey didn't bother speaking to Cindy...again. Cindy needs to stop attending.imo

The Flabber Blabber's666 think Casey should cut her hair/ other mean remarks. Same boring crappo. Maybe one of these days they will get amart and "hang it up."

    Have a great weekend!

Casey was a lot more animated yesterday - big celebrity smile when she came in and then shaking her head no at something Ashton said. I've been wondering just how much of this defense is being run by Casey. She does think she's smarter than the average bear so maybe Baez and Mason are doing exactly what she dictates?

Anywhoooo, I'm looking forward to your analysis of the day's events Dave.

i was also at hearing. a lil birdy told me a hint george was seen in a different neighborhood taking out fast food. possible not living at home. cindy seemed to be missing a wedding ring from what i saw. i could be wrong but it appeared no jewelry on that finger. cindy shook head no when judge gave final decision and casey shook head no during ashtons talk.

    Hi Dave,

I've not commented on any of the Caylee-topic blogsites for some time now, but I've always read up on them. I just wanted to say THANK YOU, DAVE! for keeping it real, keeping it honest (refreshingly so), and for keeping it MORAL. It is unconscionable (sp?) to me what has happened re: your good reputation and those handful of deranged, immoral "haters" out there. Personally, they disgust me. I don't wish to dwell on such negativity, so I'll just leave it at that! To the haters----PLEASE get a life and a healthy hobby (raquetball perhaps? lol).....or go volunteer our tinme with those less fortunate than your deranged selves.
I look forward to your article this weekend and I wish you good health and happiness.
THANK YOU for keeping it about the VICTIM----Caylee. As a crime victim/survivor, I thank you.
    Your pal in Washington State,
    Annie XOXO

LOL to your post above! Love that little birdy info.
I wonder if Georgie was purchasing some "bachelor food"??? Pizza??? hee hee
Thanks for the info and thank you Dave for providing a hate-free zone. :)

PS: Have you pursued legal action against your spiteful haters?? I am 100% behind this. This needs to STOP. JMO.....

Hi Dave. Great post. I wouldn't put it past Cindy to deliberately not wear her wedding band because people would notice and talk about it. Remember, she loves being the center of attention. A couple weeks ago her lawyer made a statement that their marriage was fine which made her the topic du jour for a little while. Cindy probably left her ring at home so people would speculate. She is a media whore.
