Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 10:22PM I am slowly dismantling my WordPress blog. By the time you read this, it will be shut down. Marinade Dave is dead. This is my home now, and I’ve been slowly and meticulously moving things from there to here. There is still work to be done, but this has been my plan and I hope you feel welcome. On this site, I have a lot more control and freedom of design. Plus, I can guarantee it will be free of trolls.
All comments go into moderation here unless you sign up for a password. If you wish to do so, leave a comment on a blog post or e-mail me and I will set you up with one, along with a screen name. The only thing the screen name/password will do is keep you out of moderation.
If you can think of ways I can improve this site, please let me know.

I think your blog is the best whether it is on Wordpress or here. I look forward to reading your blog everytime I get the chance. It is the best place to find out what is happening in the Casey Anthony case. I also enjoyed your blog about going to the game and taking the bus to visit your friend. You have a very readable style of writing.
Please keep up the good work. A lot of us depend on you to undestand what is happeing.

Dave - Rather than "Marinade Dave is dead", I think you should have said, "As was planned for several months now, Marinade Dave is moving on to bigger and better things with this Square Space Blog, and is no longer in need of a Word Press Blog".

I'm here, Tob. I'm working on my WordPress blog at the moment, and tinkering around with this one, so I might just be in and out for awhile. I just need a little more time to get things organized. I made a big boo boo last night with HTML code, but it's fixed. Whew! Thanks.
Dave~ I may need you to set me up a new password for here. I am pretty sure I forgot it too! Plus I am using a different laptop so I do not have it saved on this one. I am glad we will be troll free.

Hi, KeyWestNTV - I had to do a lot of restructuring over at the WordPress blog and I shut it down temporarily. It's back up, but there is only one published post that links to here and the Blogroll is still there. The pages above the banner still work, too. Until I decide what to do with it, that's the way it will stay and this is my new home. Thanks for looking for me. I still have some work to do here, and that will keep me busy for awhile.

Dave, glad to see that things are back up and running. I look at this as a new beginning on a much better blog. Keep doing the great writing you do and all will be well. We all enjoy your posts and the humor that you add to some of them. Thanks for all you do for us. We all appreciate it.

Thanks, Mary Jo. I noticed that the bad HTML code I installed took a couple of things out of the sidebar, too, so I've been working. I tried another comment system earlier, but it will delete all the comments we have now, or else I could install the code on each post. I might try it on a test post, just to see how it works out and what you all think of it. The gravatars work, too.

Dave I don't post here (or there) often, but I try to catch up with you as time permits; altho we are creatures of habit and change is hard - it is only through change that we can grow!
I think you'll be amazed at how homey your new blog site will feel - very quickly! After all you can make a home wherever you happen to be, when you are with friends!

I know there are lots of people who come in, read, move around a little, and never leave a comment, so don't ever worry about that. I think you're right. Hi, ecossie possie. Great to see you. Yes, I saw that about Misty, but I've been too busy today to do a write-up. I don't know if she will get out earlier than 25 years on good behavior or on appeal, but the fine is $500,000. She'll never be out of debt. It's so sad. It's because of her, her family, Ron Cummings and all their friends that Haleigh is most likely dead.

Hi, Sempre Invictus - I didn't mean that Marinade Dave is dead dead, I meant it metaphorically. The Marinade Dave blog is barren today and I've morphed into whatever I want this to be. To some, I will remain Marinade Dave. To me, a new chapter is being written, and this platform gives me license to do whatever I want. Within reason, of course. I hope I never let you down, my friend.

By the way, it didn't say Dave is dead, it said Marinade Dave is dead. I meant that metaphorically. Like when a car dies. It's not dead, it just stops working. My other blog stopped working. I can safely say that this one will be safe from trolls because I can control them. They have no idea what info I can see, right down to the type of cell phone some of them use to get here.

As for Jeopardy, I am a died in the wool fan of that show, also. We used to get it on 2 different stations on the same day at 2 different times. One day I watched the earlier version of it and later when my som came home we watched the later version of the show. I answered every question correctly and my son thought he had the smarmtest mom in the world! What he did not know was that I had seen the show and remembered the answers. Never did tell him how I got so smart so fast!
Carole - I've been wanting to do that sometime, too. As a matter of fact, I talked about it with someone who shall remain nameless. It's on in the afternoon where she lives. I'm usually very good, but it would be extremely impressive if I got each one right. I mean, I'm not THAT good.
Hi Dave. Please set me up with a password, etc. so that I might join in the "conversations" occasionally. I don't comment very often, but read every article you write - and I see you in Court when they have the status updates on the Anthony trial. I know if I miss out on hearing some of the verbage I can count out your articles to fill in what I've missed - and word it so everyone can understand it.

Dave, that is great about Jeopardy but there was one little problem. My daughter and her hubby, a whiz at Jeopardy, were competing against each other. My daughter got mixed up and gave the same question to the last three answers. She finally got one of them right. In the beginning, she was getting all of them right. Of course her mother would never coach her in advance over the phone. She did confess to her hubby so it was all in fun.

Snoopy - I would remember everything. Even if I got a few wrong, it would be quite impressive. I am usually very good at it, anyway, so no one would think I was cheating. It would be fun to do it once or twice, but I'd have to tell them, too.
Hi Peggy, I have been busy growing giant pumpkins, at least at my blog. Willy the pumpkin is on a time delay video and it is interesting to watch him grow. Big things amuse small minds. LOL Here in N.S. is where Howard Dill, the Pumpkin King of the World resided until his death in 2008. I tried some of his seeds one year and got one just a bit bigger than an orange. I just blamed it on a stupid bee that pollunated the blossoms. They make boats out of giant pumpkins and compete in pumpkin races here. We don't have any hippos or rhinos to feed them to. They are no good for pies when they are that big.
Thanks Dave for getting me set up! Questions ... Do George and Cindy still live in the house on Hopewell Drive (?) that was in default? Haven't heard anything about it in a while. Is George working at all these days? Likewise for Cindy.... When is Lee getting married? Where does he live in relation to Cindy and George? He seems to keep a low profile.

All I can say about your moving the entire thing over here is "bless your heart, Dave". I've moved web pages before in their entirety and it's no easy task. I got to the point where everything was kept in html form on my desktop so all I had to do then was download the pictures I wanted to keep and then upload everything ftp to the new site. Still time consuming, so I'm figuring you could use a good shoulder rub right about now and a couple of aspirin/tylenol/whatever lol.
The site looks great so far and I know it's a work-in-progress. Have you looked into whether you can put a script in each box for a "quick reply" to that person's individual comment? It would be great to have if it can be done, but I do realize each site has their own ground rules on things like that.
Oh and for future reference I don't get offended if I don't get a reply to my comments.. sometimes I'm just putting my 2 cents worth in lol.
