Announcement
I am slowly dismantling my WordPress blog. By the time you read this, it will be shut down. Marinade Dave is dead. This is my home now, and I’ve been slowly and meticulously moving things from there to here. There is still work to be done, but this has been my plan and I hope you feel welcome. On this site, I have a lot more control and freedom of design. Plus, I can guarantee it will be free of trolls.
All comments go into moderation here unless you sign up for a password. If you wish to do so, leave a comment on a blog post or e-mail me and I will set you up with one, along with a screen name. The only thing the screen name/password will do is keep you out of moderation.
If you can think of ways I can improve this site, please let me know.
THANK YOU

Hi, Dave, will I need a new password for your new site? I read your articles each time you send them eo me and am so impressed with your intelligence and perseverence. I am so sorry that you have been having problems right now with your site, but please continue to send me your emails as usual. Thanks you so much for taking your time to include me.
My pleasure, Kitty, and welcome! Yes, G&C still live on Hopespring, in the same house. Their mortgage was torn up and rewritten with, supposedly, terms they could afford. Neither of them are working, but who would hire them? There's a lot of baggage there. I don't know anything about Lee and Mallory. She still lives at home, I believe, and he lives a few miles away from his parents, with roommates. Yes, he does keep a low profile and it's got to be better for him that way.
Connie - I'll get back to you. I've got something to do right now.
Lee and Mallory are engaged now. Lee and Mallory moved into their own place. I am recalling this from the letters that Cindy wrote to Casey. Lee and Mal cannot live too far from Hopespring because Cindy mentioned they come for dinner or Cindy goes to their place. I remember her telling Casey what a sweet couple Lee and Mal made. It seems Cindy liked to take every opportuniy to rub a little vinegar into Casey's wounds.
Conniefl~~God love ya. You put your 2-cents in and don't expect any change. LOL Sorry, smack me.
One draw back having the reply for each comment is, if someone responds to someone way upthread, the moderator and others who visit often will miss those comments. They generally go to the latest comments and scroll up until they see comments that they have not read and begin reading from there. That is just my take on it but others may like to see the Reply used.
Well that explains it nicely and very well snoopy.. thanks! It is good to scroll back and continue from where you left off - I enjoy reading everyone's posts even if I don't reply to many. I'm always short so I don't spend that 2 cents rashly but only when I see something that hits me.
Dave, just keep on truckin.. by the time you get back to me, I'll be gone lol.. lmao. That comment reminds me so much of something my ex husband once did. I was on a rant about something so unimportant I've forgotten what it was, but I was on a tear lasting for about a good 15 minutes during a football game and when I finally drew breath and said "well?", he looked at me and calmly said "I'm sorry, I missed that.. would you mind repeating what you said?" He broke me of the habit of expecting replies to my every word lol.
Thank God I found you Dave - I really thought they had hacked the whole blog.
conniefl - I learned as a child to never talk during a football game unless you expect the wall to answer. LOL Number 1 rule of our family.
You're right, Connie, it's a lot of tedious work to move a blog. I've got hundreds of posts to go. This morning, I tinkered around with a different type of commenting platform and I may experiement with it tomorrow, just to see how it works with different people commenting. You can let me know what you think, if you're around.
Hi, Nika1! No, they haven't managed to hack my blog and it would be tough to do. Now, it's bed time for me. I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, especially after my HTML code mistake. I know what I did wrong now.
Derrye - You won't need a new password, but I just sent you one anyway, from Squarespace. I'm very pleased you like my writing. I will make sure that you continue to recieve an e-mail alert when I write a new post. Thank you very much!
Hello Dave!
So glad you're back on track. Wrote a couple times, but then the site wouldn't come up. Thought you were going away permanently because of that nut case. I hope you can keep control of the trolls not coming into your blog. You write so well and have great rebuttals to all your readers. You would be extremely missed if we couldn't read your work. Great job!
Hi, Simba - No, I'm not going anywhere. This is where I'll stay from now on because I can control the riff raff. I sure do appreciate your compliment about my writing. I enjoy doing it. I will continue to cover the Anthony case and other things because of encouraging words from you. Thank you.
Testing........ Hey Dave, Snoopy and gang,
Just testing to see if I can comment on this new site with my old password. ~Diana
Hi, Diana - I'll send you a new password from Squarespace so you can comment freely.
I was a bit confused where to go but I see this is the place to be! Keep doing what you are doing Dave and don't let those OTHERS make you stop! You are a wonderful writer and I enjoy coming to your site to read!
I would never let them stop me, momfromthemidwest. How could I give in to squatting trolls with no brains? Nope. I am glad you enjoy coming to my site and reading. hank you. I shall continue to soldier on.
Thank you Dave!
You are wuite welcome, Laura, and thank you to you, as well.
Dave , did you know there is an NCIS marathon on USA netwoork. It sounds like you could use a break. Good night eveyone. Have a great day tomorrow. Dave what happened to the radio show?
Hello Dave! I haven't posted in a while but have been watching you steadily build up this site... it's your best ever!
Granted, the contents will always be "you" no matter where you write (and I'm very glad for that!) but it is great to see everything spic-and-span and cockroach-free! Now you can go back to cooking (metaphorically, of course) without worrying about annoying bugs.
Congrats again.
Hi, Kay - The cockroaches are still there, but they can't get inside the house. And they won't.
So, you think this is my best site so far? Thank you. I am afforded a lot more freedom and the people behind Squarespace are very professional. Also, I have 125 gigs of broadband a month and that helps the site load quickly on your end. I really like WordPress, but it was slower and they are letting all sorts of vermin in. This is definitely a step up.
I like your metaphor. I use them when I can. Anyway, thank you kindly. Stop in whenever you can, and make yourself at home. Thank you.
Hi, Margaret - Yes, I know about the NCIS marathons. Sometimes I watch them, but there's football and baseball on now, and that makes this my favorite time of the year. I think Simon got tired of it. Was it worth those slobs making fun of him and his wife? No, and he was getting tired of the whole thing. Believe me, I understand. I have a lot of respect for them. Well, time for bed, so I will say goodnight.
I was so worrried when I couldn't get on for a few days..I was afraid the "Trolls" had put a hex on me..You did warn me about that..Thankfully I made it back.....
Good morning, GLENDA - The best thing to do is avoid the plague. It's like the Dark Ages with the stench of rotting flesh.
I'm glad you made it safely back from Hell.
Lol..Will take your advise this time for sure...Thank you.
dave your new email did not work. please em,ail me a pasword so i can comment without moderation. you know who i am -lol i hope. soory i did not make last meeting i planned . had company
I truly agree with your comments to GLENDA, Dave. Out of the plague pit, All- place here looks great- comfy chairs, plumped-up pillows, a fascinating homicide case to discuss...
angelbabysings - I reset your password and sent it to you again. Try it and see if it works.
I think it looks pretty comfy in here, Karen, and friendly, too. This is definitely a step up in the blogging world. I like WordPress, but there's way too many varmints allowed.
I'd like to continue to post here occasionally and I'd like to keep my name and stuff the same as it has been. I'm not very computer literate and need all the help I can get, so if that requires signing me on board, please may I impose and ask you to do that for me? Thanks in advance....'cause I know you will!
Best of luck in your new surroundings....I love the idea of a troll-free zone. Fewer distractions for you will be a good thing.
Sincerely,
COL
Hi, COL, I will set you up with a login name and password. You will get an e-mail from Squarespace with the information. You are more than welcome here! Thank you for asking.
