Statement Regarding Release of Crime Scene Photograph From Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, the Parents of Trayvon Martin

While it was an unfortunate mistake that the crime scene photograph of our son was released, we appreciate the media and the public for not reproducing or publishing the photograph.

Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin are such wonderful, caring, gracious people. How many of us could push our grief aside long enough to feel appreciation for the small efforts others were making on our behalf?

Bless these poeple. Oh, how I pray that they recieve something in the line of justice!

As I said in the last post, these parents are the image of class and graciousness. They are in my prayers that they receive justice for their son.

I've not been here to post in so long. Just couldn't sign in, for some reason: I am, however, so grateful that you've been so faithful to continue sending your blogs to my Inbox, Dave. From my heart, I thank you. Hope you and all the rest of you are doing well.

I 've not intensely followed this case, other than here, (when I'm having a good day) and on the News, when I DO watch TV, which is very seldom. One thing I can say, though - every time I've seen a picture of GZ, my tummy gets quesy and my spirt trembles. That alone is enough for me to confirm his guilt. Can't help it if it seems I'm pre-judging. I don't mean to.
But, it's one of those I know that I know things that has never failed me.

Trayvon's parents have triggered just the opposite in my spirit. They're solidly grounded, sincere, loving parents who long for justice to prevail in their young son's honor. I'm praying for them and for their desires to be fulfilled.

[Welcome back, Shade! I think we are all doing well. No complaints!

I know exactly what you mean by looking at pictures of GZ. I sensed it from the start, but I had to look at this mess as objectively as possible. The first thing that caught me was that this guy got out of his vehicle with a loaded gun. He was automatically a cop wannabe in my book, and in the end, that's exactly what he turned out to be. His aspirations are what took the life of another, and I cannot accept that. The gun empowered him and it ruled his life.

From everything I've seen and read about Trayvon's parents, they've been a class act and quite restrained. They have really impressed me. They are relying on the system to work. I hope it doesn't let them down.

Thank you for coming in and commenting. You are more than welcome to do this any time you want. You don't need to log in to comment, but if you want me to send you a new password to do so, I will gladly do it. Please... don't be a stranger. The light is always on!]

Thank you so very much for the warm welcome, Dave. I didn't realize that I could post without
signing in until the upper post. I believe I started having trouble just before Little Caylee's injustice was smeared in her precious little face. [I do know you had made some changes, somewhere near that time.] Prior to this try, I'd just settled for keeping up with your blogs, which is, by far, one of the most informative.

What a wealth of info ya'll have! Some of you put Detectives to shame. You've got some of the best "Sleuthin' Sleuthers on the Net, Dave! :) I always leave with the feeling that I've learned something new.

I'm moving to Alabama, less than 20 minutes from Columus, GA. (The Chattahoochee River separates us from GA) Leaving on the 16th of next month. My daughter, her hubby and my youngest grand kids are already there and loving every second of it. My son-in-law has been there for 10 years, working for General Dynamics. He builds tanks and other artillery for the Army, and, teaches the military how to build, service and repair them.

I said all that? Geesh! - just to say that I may not be visiting often, until I become an Alabamian, Georgia Peach! Ha! (Yum, I'll be there just in time for the peach harvesting!) Come on over, ya'll! My daughter makes the best-est sugar-free Peach Cobbler in the world! And, we LOVE company, anytime!

My pleasure, Shade. Sorry I'm so late with my response. It's been a very busy day.

I had some problems back then with trolls. Bad problems. I decided to move my blog from WordPress, too, but for other reasons. One, I have more control over the site because I pay for it, so instead of just parking for free, I have an annual lease, which was just renewed this month. Where I kept comments in moderation there and here, on this site, I am allowed to put IP addresses in a special filter so the trolls cannot access my site at all. They get a white screen that says NO ACCESS. At the first sign of trouble, that's where they go.

I happen to agree that we have some mighty fine commenters here who contribute much, and that's what's helped make it successful. People come and go, though, and readership goes up and down. I'm used to it and to be honest, I like things just the way they are. Every once in a while, I tweak here and there. I really appreciate it that you feel you learn something new when you drop by and read. Thank you very much for that.

I wish you all the best for a safe and speedy move to Alabama. Thank you for the invitation. I may just take you up on it during my next road trip through the south. I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOVE peach cobbler, especially if it's sugar-free. That's worth the trip, plus I will get to meet you! I will keep this in mind. I have your email address, but something tells me you'll be back here soon. Until then, I wish you the best and hope you get settled soon.

Now, I'm so sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I only have access to this Lap Top when the owner isn't using it, so, sometimes it's hit-n-miss.

Again, I have to say, your blog is the most informative. No twists & rumors, and void of bashers. Thank you for taking the time to make it that way, Dave. And, thank all of you for your time and hard work to research and share what you gather, right here on marinadedave's. It means a lot!

I realize it's quite a long trip from Orlando to Ft Mitchell. [Someone told me it was something like a 16-hr trip. Is that true?] But, it's nice that you do travel south on occasion. You'll have a 'Stop 'n Rest' spot to call your own, now.

I'll be living with my daughter, Son-in-law and my 2 youngest grand kids, 16 & 12. I have some very serious medical problems so, until I'm on my feet, again, my little family has taken over. I'm truly blessed! My daughter, Joni, (Johnny) has been a busy little beaver, decorating my room to make it feel like home. My Storage units were broken into and robbed this past November, so I was left with nothing but what I had with me. Had some beautiful stuff but, that's all it is --- STUFF! Can't use it to get to heaven and, can't take it with me when my name's called. Family and friends are my joy and my breath of air. Life is way too precious to waste by fretting over lost STUFF! ;)

I told Joni, (Johnny) she'd have to make you one of her cobblers when you come through. She says; "Not a problem". She's pretty good at converting recipes that call for sugar. She went with a guy a few years ago who was diabetic, so she taught herself a lot. Even before that, she had started experimenting. Her father died from neglecting to care for himself. We found insulin & insulin kits that had never been used. (We'd been divorced many years before he developed it.) So, long story short, She started really working at taking better care of herself, cut back on sugar, switched to Splenda, etc., even for the kids. I'm the picky one when it comes to sugar substitutes. But, I have to say the only thing I don't care for that she's made me is Iced Tea. However, even that can be remedied. . .''EASY on the Splenda, Darlin''.

(I feel kind'a weird taking up this room on your blog.) Anyway, when you decide to 'fly south', just drop an e-mail in my inbox and tell me when you'll be coming through. I'll give you the address & phone #. You've got a kind spirit, so I'm not worried about meeting you nor, introducing you to all my little punkies. Besides, my sil is 6'4". Get my drift? ? ? LOL Just kidding. He IS 6'4", though.

    August 17, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterShade

No problem, Shade! You are on your time, not mine, but thank you for being so polite.

I really appreciate it that you find my blog to be the most informative. Some may disagree, but that's what makes the world go 'round. There are some other great blogs, though.

For the heck of it, I looked up the trip between the two locations and it's only about a 7 hour trip. Not 16, but it's not a quick drive, either. I am always ready to make and meet new friends, so the next time I'm on the road, I will make it a point to stop by. I have some serious medical problems, too, so we can compare notes.

I'm so happy for you. You have a lovely family. What a shame tour storage unit was robbed. Thankfully, you have your daughter and SIL preparing a room for you, not to mention good friends. From your writing, I can see why. And you're right, life is way too precious to waste fretting over lost stuff.

Please thank your daughter for being so open and accommodating. Tell her I am always ready for peach cobbler, and it's good she knows a lot about diabetes. Does she know anything about stevia? It's a natural sweetener, but you can't bake with it.

Anyway, you are not taking up room on my blog, we are interacting. One thing about the Internet - it's not like paper and you never run out of room. I'll let you know when I'm ready for a trip, but until then, keep in touch. You are more than welcome here and about your SIL? Pshaw, I have nothing to worry about. I'm harmless.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to meeting your little punkies. I love kids.

    Hi Dave!

Took me a while, but I finally found out where your reply was hiding. lol Need to sharpen my detective skills, huh? Haven't lost my touch for knowing good blogging, however. I'm looking forward to reuniting with my trusty Desk Top that was always with me. It's in Ft Mitchell, already. (It's going to be interesting having a 37" screen. My kids decided it would be great for those days I'll
be confined to my room. **Yep ~ I still get grounded. At 63, I've discovered that it's really a plus for maintaining my youth. I do believe my daughter derives great pleasure from those "pay-back" moments, also. Ha! You ought 'a try it, sometime. I highly recommend it. LOL**

Anywho ~ I used to read Snoop's blog, also. And, another. Was it Nan's? Also, all the Blog sites you have listed. I don't get much time on this Lap Top to check the others out, and, since you so kindly deliver notice of each new blog to my inbox, it works just fine for me to do my catching up right here. ( You rarely miss a beat, if ever.) I am, however, looking forward to more time to check out the others, again.

Only 7 hours? Wonder if I got my wires crossed with St Clair Shores, MI, where some very dear friends live? They're hoping to come visit @ the end of Sept. if all goes well. They want to Camp @ Uchee Creek, less than 5 miles from where I call "home". Sure will be nice. Haven't seen them since I flew out to visit 7 years ago.

We love meeting new people, too, Dave. The more friends, the bigger the family. Right? The hard part is adjusting to not seeing lifetime friends from here, as often.

I'm sure we'll all be looking forward to meeting you, too. Brannon, my 12-yr old might question you to death if has a great interest in something you say. He's always had a driving hunger for learning. So, if you say something that peaks his interest, be prepared. He absolutely loves to read. Loves school and has a fit when he doesn't get an "A" on everything.

Ashlynne's 16 ~ you know. . stay in your room, Skyp with her friends back here and new friends, there. She is also very intelligent, but has to work at keeping high averages. She does fine, though. Ashie loves to write, so you will definitely peak her interest. Oh, can't forget ~ when you come to visit, you're sure to hear her singing, either in a closet or her Mom 'n Dad's bathroom. (It's the accoustics, ya know? lol)

Oh shoot! You mean I won't get to experience my SIL protecting his MIL? Geesh! You can at least growl once or, twice. LMBO! I'm kidding. I'm kidding.

Someone needs her laptop. Till next time, be blessed and take care. No time for proof-reading. Sorry. (I'll have to ask Joni about the Stevia.)

I just noticed your comment, Shade, but I took some neuropathy meds awhile ago that make me tired. I hope you don't mind, but I am very sleepy now. I'll come back in the morning and say more. I'm glad you are here. That's very nice. Thank you.

    August 19, 2012 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

Don'tcha just hate those hidden comments, Shade? Once in your new space, you're going to have a 37" monitor? WOW! No need to ever go to the movies again. For that, I'd ground myself!

Snoopy still has her blog, you know - mainstreamfair. I have a link on my top left sidebar. Look for it there. I don't remember nan ever having a blog, but she's well known in the blogging/forum universe, and she's still contributing pertinent information and links.

I don't know when I will be taking another road trip, but I really do look forward to them. This time, I want to spend some time in Savannah because I've never been there and I love antebellum architecture. I have a deep appreciation for history and, in particular, the Civil War. If I can't convince my best friend to take the trip with me, I will make it anyway. I just don't know when, but I will definitely plan on spending some time with you and your loved ones. I look forward to that. We never have enough friends, meaning there is always room for more. I'm great with children, too, so I think they'll be very comfortable around me.

If you really want me to snarl at your SIL, I will, but he'll just laugh at me. That's OK, I like to joke around, but he's going to know right away how passive and harmless I am. Heck, I don't even like to pull weeds. Anyway, keep in touch. I'm almost always around, and you be blessed too. Definitely look into stevia. It comes from a leaf. Truvia is one of the products on the market now, but it can be purchased in its raw form, too, at health foods stores like Whole Foods.
