Drowning in a Pool of Lies?

What do I think the defense will argue in it’s opening statement?

Read my article on Orlando Magazine. See if it will take you as long to read as what Jose will say tomorrow.

My pleasure, ecossie. I have an aisle seat, so no one will be sitting on my right. I think Newsweek is to my left, and that should be Diane Dimond. I'm looking forward to it. Also, I doubt if I'll have much of a chance to answer many comments after today. Observing an writing is going to keep me very busy. Thank you. I look forward to your comments, you know.

Justice for Caylee starts today! I can't wait to hear the pool of lies that comes out of the defense's mouth. We have waited for this day for so long and it is finally here. Can't wait to hear all about it from you, Dave.

Caylee drowned? That is BS! No mother would put duct tape on their child after drowning and then put her in garbage bags and then a laundry bag and throw in the woods. The jury is not going to buy this crap.

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterMary Jo

This is the most ridiculous bs story from this defense that I have ever heard. I can't believe that George and Cindy are actually sitting in court listening to this and letting them take the blame. George needs to get some ba**s and stop this. I will not believe that Cindy knew about this before she made that 911 call. She was too emotional to have known before then.

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterMary Jo

If we are supposed to believe this bs story then why would the defense have let their client sit in jail for almost 3 years and not try to plea out? This story makes no sense and this jury will not believe it.

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterMary Jo

I wonder if George's attorney is going to file a lawsuit against this defense for going after George. If I remember correctly that is what he said he would do.

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterMary Jo

Are they going to arrest George now for sexual abuse? There are no statue of limitations on sexual abuse. Jose should shut up while he can because his story is getting more outrageous as he goes.

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterMary Jo

Wasn't it shown that George was at work when this accident in the pool happened? There are way too many holes in this defense story and it is so unbelievable.

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterMary Jo

This is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard, how does the Defense intend to get away with this put Casey on the stand? The State will eat her alive. I wonderr if this is why Jose left the court house early last week. He may have gone to Cindy and George's and told them they were going to throw George under the bus and they better o along with it. I have never heard anything so outrageous as this pack of lies.

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterPeggy222

I wonder if the reason Andrea Lyons and LInda Kenney Baden left this case is because of this story that the defense is trying to get the jury to buy. They probably knew that it wouldn't work.

I sure was right on the title of this post, wasn't I?

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

Yes, you were right with this title. I really don't believe that this jury is going to buy the defense's story. Too many holes in it and when they get witness after witness disputing their story and find out how much she lied about everything, they will convict her. There is no way she would have stayed in that house after she was legal age to move out if she was being sexually abused, especially after she had Caylee. Casey is also not afraid to let anyone know when she is not happy with them. She has a temper on her and she would never let anyone do that to her. We also can't forget those tapes from jail and how much she wanted to talk to George alone and how she acted with him on those videos. They had no other defense other than what they came up with and it isn't going to work.

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterMary Jo

    Dave, were you ever!

Now, if I were the Pro side I'd enter into evidence that jailhouse video of her calling George a great father and grandad STAT, followed immediately with the "silent movie" one she took of Caylee in the high chair. I mean, who does that? Oh, yeah- a resentful, spiteful little skank psychopath, that's who!

She's going to have to take the stand, going with the Accidental, you know.

    Hee hee hee

Since Cindy and George are witnesses can they go home and give Lee a heads up on what happened today or is that forbidden? He can watch TV and find out that way can't he? I hope he can so he knows what is coming down the pike for himself.

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterMary Jo

Today should have been an eye opener for George and Cindy and they have to know now with the lies that were told today that Casey did kill Caylee. If for some reason Casey would get aquitted, which I know won't happen, she will now have a home to go to. Her parents I am sure will be through with her. I hope they stop putting money in her commissary account and let her fend for herself.

Defense logic sounds pathetic. If George is all bad to Casey when she was young, then why Casey trusted him with her daughter? I wonder if this is a case of negligence as suggested by defense. The story sounds so unreal with lot of holes. I think Casey drugged her daughter and killed her (may be OD'd which could be the negligence part).

Casey, I don't know you. But as a fellow human and a parent I would like to request you this. Please close your eyes for a minute and picture your little princess's face. Don't think about anything else, no courts, jails, attorneys, judges, boyfriend, parents or even yourself. Just observe that little girl's face and hear her tell you mommy, i love you. Apologize to her and confess to the jury, if you did. Enough of trails and motions. All she had in her 3 years of existence was you. Please don't betray her.

I'm a father of a little boy. If ever something bad happens to my child because of my negligence, I would either kill myself or handover myself to police to be left to rot in a dungeon. My guilty conscious would kill me every second till I die.

Poor Caylee, her only mistake was to be born in that house. Let her rest in peace. I sincerely hope that the culprit gets a befitting judgement.

If I were a juror, just by studying Casey Anthony I would have problems believing the defense's claims. Casey only sheds real tears when she is portrayed as a victim...poor litle Casey who was sexually abused; poor Casey who is wrongly accused. She has not cried once for Caley, which makes Baez's contention that when she saw a drowned Caley her response was to cry copious tears just too far-fetched. It was interesting to note that during the prosecution's opening statements Casey was so mad, so angry that she turned red. That is Casey's response to events in her life: she throws a fit, causes drama, and gets her way more often than not by lying. She's brazen and in-your-face. If she ever was a victim, she no longer is.

The defense is asking for more hours of investigating. What do they have left to investigate, especially after today's opening statement? This defense is crazy.

Dave, you sure looked some spiffy today....woot woot ....really professional with that Ipad slung over your shoulder....and the tie..o la la ..... I was so dumb struck by you that I couldn't concentrate on the trial. I need to read your article to know what happened. LOL

    May 24, 2011 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

Congratulations Dave, you did nail this title. George made me cry when he was on the stand. I was so proud of him for saying he never sexually abused Casey. I am also glad he said he had nothing to do with Caylee's death. What a horrible thing to say. I can't even tell you how angry I am at JB, he is so vile for what he did. I so hope the jury saw through all those lies. Hanging around Casey for the past three years has done a number on him. I hope the fool puts Casey on the stand, the State will eat her alive. She will hopefully get the death penalty, she is quite evil.

Looking forward to your new article Dave.

I have been following this case from Texas for some time. I am a single mom with three children who has been single since my children were toddlers.

What I have always thought, and what I continue to think is this: Casey had the fight with her parents who told her they weren’t babysitting, she wanted to have sex with her boyfriend who was clear he didn’t want Caylee coming so she put Caylee with the “trunk sitter” (the trunk used as babysitter), drugged and with her mouth taped so no one especially the boyfriend would know she had her in the trunk.

Casey got trashed, went home and fell asleep and frankly forgot about her child…woke up, remembered Caylee was in the trunk and found her dead, having aspirated on vomit. Casey went OMG and then immediately repeatedly called her mother in a panic….only the mother was still mad about the night before and didn’t answer…..so….Casey then said okay, no answer, f* you for ignoring me..... well, serves you right and then started the coverup.

Think about it–this makes the most sense…..but Caylee didn’t drown….and at the same time I don’t believe Casey murdered her intentionally.

As for the computer searches I think Casey was so messed up, she was looking for ways to off her parents and get their assets–remember she told her one friend her parents were giving her the house? Remember, she was jobless and broke? The computer searches weren’t for Caylee–they were for the parents. Ironic, she wanted to off her parents....and perhaps later Caylee would have been next, but the trunkdeath was unintentional.

Now, don't get me wrong--Casey is a sociopath...small wonder given how she was raised on top of how she is wired.....and she totally should be charged with negligent homicide...and a host of other things including lying to the police in a coverup--BUT...that's not what she is charged with, is it? She is charged with capital, premediated murder. Jose was a fool to not simply tell the truth--Caylee didn't drown....what happened was the death occurred in such a negligent way the concern would be the jury would convict her anyway. Purporting a drowning is more palatable than the cold hard truth that Casey taped up her crying kid and stuck her in the trunk so she could get laid.
