Dave~~from what I am learning, this is one sad case. We have a young 9 year old girl who has physical and mental issues and she has gone missing. The child, along with her two sisters have been staying with a 40 year old, 'male' neighbor friend of Aliahna's mother. The mother, Tara, who is also Aliahna's cousin has been ill and that is why the girls went to the friends to stay. Aliahna has been sleeping in a chair at the neighbors. Where are Child Protective Services in cases like this? It is difficult to think that people still live in some of these conditions.
I am just starting to put some bits and pieces together and I notice some of the stories being put out there by different news writers and the like are varying in their presentation so it is hard to decipher the real facts from just speculation on their part.
I will post one write up and the source. It will help those interested in this case to famialrize themselves with what is taking place.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) — Police are still searching for 9-year-old Aliahna Marie Maroney Lemmon from Fort Wayne. Lemmon has been missing since late Friday night, early Saturday morning.
This isn't the Merry Christmas one Fort Wayne family had hoped for.
“We want to find her, get her home for Christmas well, safe, sound and happy,” said Elizabeth Sepponen, family member.
Nine-year-old Aliahna Lemmon of Fort Wayne has been missing since late Friday night, early Saturday morning. Police say she was last seen in the Northway trailer park around Clinton Street and Diebold Road.
Aliahna’s grandpa died earlier this month. Sepponen says the family hasn't been coping very well and her cousin, Tara, also Aliahna’s mother, has been very ill. Sepponene says Aliahna and her two younger sisters have been in the care of a neighbor for the past couple weeks while Tara recovers. Police say Aliahna was last reported sleeping in a chair at the neighbor’s house before she went missing. Sepponen said when Tara called to check up on her daughters, the neighbor realized Aliahna was missing.
“The babysitter thought that she had gone home to Tara. So nobody realized, because of the miscommunication, that she had actually been missing for a few hours,” Sepponen said. “Tara’s pretty freaked out.”
Police interviewed neighbors and family members all weekend. Aliahna lives in a trailer home with her mother and step-father in a neighborhood where 15 registered sex offenders also live. However, Sheriff Fries says they’ve already gone to each offender’s house and interviewed them. He says none of them are suspects.
“We're not going to rule out anything as far as foul play. Maybe she's just at a friend's house,” said Ken Fries, Allen County Sheriff. “We're hoping somebody sees this and says, 'Oh Aliahna's at our house, come get her.'”
Aliahna also goes by the names “Ailey” and “Ana,” and Sepponen says she is partially blind and deaf and suffers from mood and conduct disorders. Sepponen suspects she ran away.
“They're not quite sure where she went or what was in her mind at the time,” Sepponen said.
But Sheriff Fries says that’s unlikely. “Nine is young to be running away, especially when you couple that with Christmas,” Sheriff Fries said.

To my knowledge, thus far, this is the last person to see Aliahna. It seems rather strange for someone to make a trip to a gas station for a cigar at the crack of dawn and then go home and crawl back in bed. Read this...
That family friend last saw Aliahna sleeping in a chair in his home at 6 a.m. Friday, before he went to the Marathon gas station at North Clinton Street and Mayhew Road to buy a cigar, the sheriff said.
When the friend returned, he went back to sleep thinking Aliahna was still in the home. At 10 a.m., Aliahna's mother and the friend spoke on the phone. After that call, the friend realized Aliahna was gone, and he assumed she was with her mother, Fries said.
Because of a lack of communication, Aliahna's mother and the family friend did not realize that neither had the girl until about 8:40 p.m. That's when they reported her missing, Fries said.

Just an aside....when LE goes to interview these registered sex offenders who live in the area of a missing child, do they do a thorough search of their premises? I wouldn't expect any of these SOB's to tell the truth when questioned.
Dave~ ~the following excerpt caught my eye.. it is included in the above write up.

I think the good sheriff may have said, "The friend is not a registered sex offender. Isn't this sheriff taking a lot for granted unless he has surveillance on this friend 24/7. Well then again, maybe the friend is an admitted... oh never mind. I wont go there. JMO
Dave ~ ~here is an example of reporting news. CNN states little girl 'snatched' from a Fort Wayne trailor park. There is no evidence that Aliahna was snatched from anywhere. CNN goes on to say what the girl was wearing when she was last seen. Well the neighbor friend was the last to see Aliahna asleep in a chair and I doubt if she would be sleeping in the clothes she normally wore outside.

According to this article Aliahna doesn't meet the criteria for an Amber alert. From what you've posted she sounds like a very vulnerable child. Authorities don't seem concerned!?! We had a case in Australia that reminds me a little bit of this, murdered girl Kiesha Abrahams. Kiesha was also reported missing in her day clothes when she shouldn't have been wearing them. Aliahna's special needs would prove challenging to her Mum, moreso a 40 yo man I would imagine. And he went out at some odd hour to buy a cigar? What did he put in that cigar to smoke that mean't he didn't notice the little girl missing. And who is doing anything about this? Even the media sounds disinterested. How sad.
Tiffany~~ there were no active searches today by law enforcement. They are monitoring the phones in hopes they will receive a few tips.
This little girl is deaf and I hope she has a hearing aid. Tara, the child's mother is also her cousin. I wonder if that is a first cousin considering all the medical issues Aliahna has.
The mother has been ill with a fever?? I wonder if she has been to a doctor to find out what is causing the fever and if she has something that is catching. Maybe a social worker from Child Protective Services will pick up on this story and get this family some help. If Aliahna has attention deficit disorder or has emotional problems, surely she is on medication. I am afraid to think how this one may end as it hasn't been a very good year for some innocent children.

At least something is being done, which wasn't my initial impression when I began reading about the case in the news. The fact that Christmas has passed, there's been ample time for anyone who has found this little girl to notify authorities and they haven't, it doesn't look hopeful. I too am afraid how this may end.
I am quite sick today, so I am going to rest in bed. Fever, too.

FBI Joins Search for Missing Indiana Girl
FORT WAYNE, Ind. December 26, 2011 (AP)
The FBI has joined the search for a missing 9-year-old Indiana girl and agents are scouring a mobile home park that's also a haven for registered sex offenders.
Agents on Monday descended on the mobile home park where Aliahna Lemmon lived in Fort W
A sheriff's department spokesman says Fort Wayne authorities plan to meet Monday afternoon to plan their next move after two straight days without a search for the girl. Aliahna went missing from a family friend's home on Friday.
About a half-dozen people in black windbreakers were at the mobile home park Monday. Several identified themselves as FBI agents.
Search dogs were seen at a nearby storage facility.
A state website says 15 registered sex offenders reside at the mobile home park.

This guy was babysitting 3 girls- WHAT? 15 RSOs in a 24 "home" trailer park- WHAT? Let's just pray that poor baby was unconscious....
What a sad, sad ending. That bogus cigar story must have tipped off police right from the gitgo.
How horrific is this story?! What the heck is wrong with much of our society? CHILDREN ARE NOT DISPOSABLE! I'm really angry with the bio parents for not even checking on their own kids for one week, let alone letting them stay with a non-relative. Helpless, innocent children that nobody cared enough about, if at all. Something has to give and I'm tired of it being the children. This is just so heartbreaking and senseless.
This comes as no surprise. I am so sad for that darling little girl. I cannot write what I would like to express about the rotten %$#@ $ that did this.

Hi, Tereesa - I haven't heard anything about interbreeding, so it must have just been a speculation. I don't want anything that cannot be substantiated on my blog. However, if someone wonders and mentions it in passing, that's different. I don't think anyone came right out and stated it as fact. God, I hope not! That's not what my blog is about. Thank you for commenting, and if you would like to add anything, please feel free to do so. This is a terrible, terrible thing.

Dave~ ~ when this story first broke, I did read where it said, "Aliahna's mother who is also her cousin." I do not know if it was speculation or not and am trying to find the article. When I do, we can see which news outlet put it in print. I make it a habit of providing a source to the information that I put in here. It would not be the first time that misinformation is aired without verification on the part of some of the so-called news outlets.
There's all sorts of misinformation out there, Snoopy, mostly promulgated by the misleading media. If you read it, then I believe you. That's all there is to it. It's nothing that was borne from this blog, so I wouldn't worry about it. Actually, I found it interesting that something of this nature, mentioned on my blog, had made it into the search engines so soon.
Whatever, I would not lay any blame on you, so don't even give it a thought.
Police Affidavit Contains Michael Plumadore' Confession
If you are sensitive, the following may be hard for you to read....
A police affidavit submitted to the court today stated that Plumadore "freely admitted" that in the "early morning hours" last Thursday, he struck Aliahna in the head multiple times with a brick "while she was standing on the front steps of his residence."
He put the girl's body in several trash bags and stuffed her in a freezer until nighttime came. He worked past midnight dismembering Aliahna's body with a hack saw, the affidavit, obtained by ABC News, states. He put the pieces in garbage bags and tossed them in a Dumpster of a nearby business, but kept her head, hands and feet in his freezer.

Dave~ ~ most of the news sites have been updated since Aliahna's murder and I am having problems finding the original news article when this story broke. If you google the following... "Aliahna's mother, Tara, is also her cousin".... you will see all the news sites that stated the same and where this 'cousin' originated from. Maybe someone has some info to disprove it???
I would think that if it's being reported, there's a good chance it's true, but only because that's a vicious thing to say if it's just a made-up story. I don't think legitimate news organizations would dare say it without merit, in other words, but it can happen. The National Enquirer? Of course, but what happened in Indiana happens all over the world and it should never do anything to malign people living in that state or in mobile home parks wherever they are.

I would be the last person to condemn anyone who lives in a mobile home park. As far as interbreeding, it happens all over. I am familar with two different cases that happened here in the Maritmes. One man fathered 'five' of his own daughter's children. The children were all disfigured and had serious medical issues. One half of this world does not know how the other half lives and, in the business of reporting news, there is very little shocking anymore.
One good thing, Indiana has the death penalty! Now we will see what the SOB's defense lawyer will come up with to save him from being tied down on a gurney and injected with some venom. If they charge him with Involuntary Manslaughter, I will give up on the justice system. I am just praying that the other six year old girls will be taken care of properly and this whole family can get some counselling and help.
I'm sure Plumadore's defense team will go with an insanity plea of some sort, although I don't know anything about Indiana law. Maybe, he ate Twinkies. Look up the Twinkies defense.
If someone could look into the minds of some of these sick, perverted monsters and see what turns them into beasts.

The murder of this helpless child makes me sick. How can the Grandmother still defend him when the body parts were in his freezer and he led them to the dumpster. How can such uncaring people exist?

Nika1 ~~this is all so very senseless. These little girls were thrown out to the wolves so to speak. The mother had the flu and the stepfather had to get his sleep during the day because he worked night shift. God knows what these children have had to endure. Now will Child Protective Services step in and help the remaining girls? Frankly, I doubt it.

I wonder how Plumadore never got on the national register. I did not believe for one minute that this was his first offense and I am sure now they will look everywhere he has been. I have a feeling the child was harmed and probably Mother was well enough to get the children back. I just wonder how sick she was - when I have had the flu I have to get up and manage things.

I can't find the link either but I read the same thing as you about the mother being the cousin. I will search again tonight when my kids are asleep. I saw the Facebook three little princesses photo comment after you posted the link to MP's Facebook account. Unfortunately that's not all I found. Go google Michael Plumadore Myspace. The sicko has a picture of a bunny for his profile, very enticing to kids and aside from Tom who friends everyone and a band he only has two girls as friends. One 16 yo and one 21 year old. Problem is he joined myspace 2 years ago so that 16 yo would have been 14 at the time and he was clearly grooming them. I'm so sad for that little girl and outraged by this crime and the circumstances surrounding it.

One other thing, if he blungeoned Aliahna to death on his front steps, he must have had a lot of blood to clean up before LE paid him a visit.
Did you happen to listen to Tarah, Aliahna's mother on Nancy Grace last evening? She was painting a picture of a saint when she spoke about the trust she had for MP. I wonder if she even knew that her father had been charged with sexual molestation. She moved to that mobile home park to take care of him and he should have been in jail with all the rest of the known predators. This is what I just don't understand. Why are the laws so lenient when it comes to sex offenders? They cannot be rehabilitated so children will always be their prey.
I shudder to think of what the three girls had to endure staying with that perverted %$#@. I also can't seem to muster up any sympathy for Aliahna's mother and I have tried.
Snoopy, Aliahna's mothers Facebook during the week she was 'sick' depicted someone moreso sick of her children than someone sick with flu. Which makes me sick. She sure wasn't too unwell to play Farmville all hours of the day and night. If this woman knew, if she had any inclination at all about the accused killer or her father then she should fry too. I would answer your question about why pedophiles get lenient sentences and say what I'm feeling right now but it might blow up the Internet.
