I do not have lung cancer!

I plan on writing more about it here, but I am prepping myself for tomorrow’s colonoscopy (and endoscopy), if you get my drift. Needless to say, I’m spending less time at my computer and more time in the… well, never mind.

Anyway, it was great news today! Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. The reason why I’ll need to explain it is simple. This is what the report states:

LUNG PARENCHYMA WITH MILD PNEUMOCYTE HYPERPLASIA, ANTHRACOSIS, INTRA-ALVEOLAR PIGMENTED MICROPHAGES, AND SMALL FOCI OF INTRA-ALVEOLAR FIBROSIS CONSISTENT WITH RESOLVING INFLAMMATORY PROCESS.

NEGATIVE FOR ACUTE INFLAMMATION. GRANULOMA. NEOPLASIA.

    That’s not so simple.

Dave~~ Faith can move mountains!! My interpretation of all those big fandangled words in your test results mean,..."coal dust' in your lungs. Let's just say that it is residue from years of smoking.

BTW, I am some glad our winds are coming from the North West tonight... I prefer to be upwind from you sir, especially tonight.

Me is so happy for you , Dave, that I find myself in a very giddy mood. God is good!!

Thanks, Snoopy. I know how much this means to you, and I am very thankful for you, my friend. OOPS! Gotta go!

I am so thankful and happy that you got the results that you did. You will continue to be in my nightly prayers. God was listening to all of us who were praying for you. From what I can understand without having to look up anything, it sounds like you had some inflammation going on and it was starting to resolve at the time of the biopsy. I will have to look up some of the other things that they said in that report to understand what it is. The prep for the colonoscopy is a lot worse than the actual procedure. Trust me I know from experience. After the endoscopy you might have a little sore throat and some hoarseness, but that should be the worst of it. After tomorrow you can rest easy because your major tests and procedures will be over.

Hi, Mary Jo - I think you're right about something in my lung resolving itself. Good thing you come from a medical background. Whatever happened in there, it wasn't cancer and that's the best news. The colonoscopy and endoscopy tests were a piece of cake. I just got a follow-up call from the center, and I asked her which procedure came first. She said the endoscopy, but she added that I got a double dose of propofol because two procedures were involved. Here it is, Wednesday, and I still feel drained. I guess if I were in better overall health, I would have an easier time shrugging it off. At least, I can't feel anything, so nothing is sore. Believe me, I am resting a bit easier. The brunt of testing is "behind" me. Thank you so much for your prayers. I do believe they help and they've most definitely helped me.

Great, good news! Now you can start working on writing again...(sound of whip cracking...)

Yup, Karen, time to get cracking! No more excuses, huh? My creative juices are flowing again!

Now that you have been cleared of the Big C on all your tests, I'd like to call the results KARMA....lol....

That's HILARIOUS, Newbie! Imagine all that bad karma those creepy trolls were bragging about. Uh-huh. Just like the voodoo curses they sent me. Strange people do strange things.

God bless you. I am so glad to hear of your wonderful news and good luck with the colonoscopy.

Thank you, Cindy. I am happy to report my next doctor appointment isn't until Oct. 25, so I'm a happy camper. No tests!

Dave, i am so happy to hear the good news regarding your health. Prayers do wonders don't they? I will keep you in my prayers.

Yes, terri, prayers do wonders, and thank you for yours and for keeping me in them. I can safely say I'm now out of the thickest woods, but there are still a few weeds growing. Those, I can handle.

Great results Dave must be a huge weight of your mind and your Family an Freinds I count myself as a cyber freind an Im releived...P S Have you seen the Lisa Irwin case? Starting to look like another Ant circus.....

Hi, ecossie! Yes sir, it was a huge weight off my mind and all of my friends and relatives. Most definitely, you can count on being my friend and vice versa. I am really blessed to have so many great people in my life. Thank you for that.

I'm slowly working myself into the Irwin story. Yes, it's a weird one, but will it grow legs like the Anthony case? It's too early to tell. Look at Haleigh Cummings and Kyron Horman - they sort of faded away, unfortunately. I have no idea if there's anything new to report. Anything at all, and that's a darn shame.

    Thanks, my friend!

Gee Golly and pork bellies, Good news is here to stay! I am always commenting on an older post. Congrats Davey Boy.

Yuppee, calipatti, it's some wonderful news. Thanks for the congratulations. It lifted a heavy burden off me.

Dear Dave such wonderful news!!!!! God is such a good God and is always watching over all of us. You get plenty of rest now and let your body renew its energy and we will all be waiting patiently for your new articles.. Did you read where Judge Strickland is retiring? Old Mason will be thinking he pulled off that coup. I still want to slap his face worse than I do baez. LOL ......................... Where is Simon and Jan? Are they ill? I hope not , I miss the show. ...............I read where there is new evidence in the case of the two little girls who were shot to death in Oklahoma and left on the side of the road. I hope they can find the animal who did that.............Pamper yourself for awhile and know we all will keep praying.

Yes, Margaret, the news is wonderful. I was really fretting for awhile. I knew of Judge Strickland's retirement, and it didn't at all surprise me because he had a good reason to, as he explained to Bob Kealing from WESH, in a round about way. He wants to help his wife with her business. And he's not getting any younger. The power of being a judge never affected him and there's nothing pretentious about him, either. It's a lot of work.

As for Simon and Jan, I'm sure the show will return one day, but only time will tell. I'll talk to him about it.

I'm not familiar with the two little girls in Oklahoma. I guess I've bee a bit too preoccupied lately. If someone wants to point me in the right direction, I'll take a look at it, but I don't think it's something I'll pursue right now. I do have a couple of logs in the fire, but I'm waiting for the sparks to begin.

Thanks for caring. I'm still going to take it easy for a little while, but I'll be doing more writing soon, that's for sure!

Dave, Such wonderful news. May you continue to receive only positive health reports. Alternatively, I should say may all your test come back negative. Negative is a good word when looking for disease. God Bless.

Hey, Rob! My tests did come back negative for cancer and that was a major relief. And I don't have any polyps. None. Negative is a very good word to hear. Thanks for your support and prayers. That had a lot to do with the results.

Had dinner yet? I know your show is about to come on, so i hope you are serving up a favourite food with your t.v. table and allowing yourself the rest time you deserve. You have mastered doing everything the Dr.'s asked and now it's time for YOU. Good news always makes me hungry and after the ooops moments for the last couple of days I'm sure food is your best friend. However do you do that when you are a diabetic? Now that's pushing it. Anyway you know how I feel about your news so I won't repeat my delerious mood.

I try not to go overboard with my eating, Weezie, but sometimes it's tough, especially when celebrating good news. I am a lot more regimented now, unlike when I first found out I was diabetic. I still eat my favorite foods, including cake, but the pieces are very small now. Just like pizza, instead of eating 3 slices, I eat a salad and 1 slice. I'm used to it now. Thanks, I do feel a lot better now, knowing I don't have any cancer inside me.

Dave~ ~ you must thank your lucky stars for medical technology. Had you been a horse, you would have been shot and trucked off to the glue factory. You must have an empty feeling today, right?
Well you got your alimentary canal all cleaned out but watch what you go filling it back up with.

In all seriousness, stress is the biggest killer there is. It has been proven to cause heart related diseases and also has been connected to cancer cells running wild. Just look at the male propulation who have high pressured jobs. I know, Dave, you have been under a tremendous amount of stress, needing medical tests and having to wait so long to get them. You must feel a sense of relief that you are finally getting some answers. Thank God those answers have been on the positive side thus far.

So it looks like you will be around a while longer for me to pester. BTW, I have a great way to relieve my stress....I just come here and nag nag nag nag... Ahhh, it feels so good!

I was very careful, Snoopy. On the way home from the procedures, I ordered a footlong sub from Subway, with lots of veggies, and only ate half. I ate the other half for breakfast the next morning.

I agree, I have been under a lot of stress, but I did my best to shrug it off. Was I successful? At times, yes, but not always. Today, I am relieved.

As for being a nag, the Mirriam-Webster online dictionary describes the word as a horse - one that is old or in poor condition. Certainly ideal for a glue factory, I might say.

All kidding aside, thanks for all your support. I've needed it!

Boy, Tiffany, you sure got that right! I was thinking I'd have to have part of my left lung removed.

Dave~~I know you wont mind me posting the following, that is if will be show up.

"I'm a Type-B personality in a Type-A job," Strickland said. "I'm worn out and ready to try something new."

Judge Strickland is going to hang up his robe on Dec 31st

    October 18, 2011 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

Great news Dave! Know you're relieved.

Snoopy I saw that about Judge Strickland and thought of Dave automatically. We'll probably have to read his upcoming book (you just KNOW there's bound to be one in his future) and look for Dave lol.

Yes, I am, Connie, and thank you for your support.

If I were a betting man, which I am, I would put my money on no book coming from Judge Strickland. I believe he wants a simpler life at this stage, and he DOES want to help his wife with her business. That, I know for a fact, is true.

    Greetings Dave,
I am so happy that you do not have cancer. Prayers are a very powerful communication with our higher power. You are still on my prayer list. It never hurts to have a little more protection even in the good times.
I have two friends that are living with liver cancer. Both had it metastasize to other locations. One probably won't make it past Christmas and the other was just diagnosed four days ago. We are trying to spend more time with our friends but it is so difficult to keep positive when you know it is just a matter of time until they will be gone from our life. I realize that it is the beginning of many similar situations and it is part of the aging process. It is sad but true so all we can do is let them know how much we love them and be there for them and their loved ones.
With all of the bad news of late it was such a wonderful surprise to hear your good news. I'm sending you a big hug.

Hi, Frankie - Thank you for your words of kindness and encouragement, and especially for your continuing prayers. I'm so sorry about your friends. I have no idea where cancer comes from and why it takes so many people before their time. The only thing I can say from my own experience no is that I prepared my mind for the worst case scenario, so I was prepped to learn bad news. After all, I smoked for nearly 40 years and I only had myself to blame, but your friends? That's a tough one to understand. My grandmother died of liver and pancreas cancer in 1997. This was a woman who never smoked, drank, or ate junk food. It just happens. Yes, it is so sad, but the only thing we can do is exactly what you're doing - let them know how much you love them and be there. Please tell your friends that there's someone else out there praying for them. I wish I could do more.

    Dave:
It is so good to hear of your findings. I have worked in radiology here in Savannah now for 29 years and I do understand somewhat what you are going through. The news is great. I just wanted to write you as I have always been thankful for the coverage of the Caylee Anthony case. I hardly follow any news reports on anything much except for that case. I still don't know why that one single case except the child, Caylee, was just such an innocent victim, as all childen are. Anyway, keep up the good spirts. Cindy in Savannah.
