Dave, I would like to know how in the hell they got my private email? This is the ONLY site I have trusted with it. I have had this email my entire career and if I have to change it because I trusted this site, well, it will not be good for anyone. Since you can clearly see the email addys on the distribution list, I WOULD HOPE that you would email each of us directly and tell us how they hacked you. We deserve it. Tim

    September 23, 2010 | Unregistered Commenteranon

I have no idea how they hacked me, Tim, and you aren't on my contact list. Believe me, I had nothing to do with this, the FBI is now involved, and I'm taking my computer up to the SCSO computer & electronic crimes division.

the baldaintbeautiful blog crossed the legal line, Wordslinger, specifically.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

Yup, it's a trojan. Both my McAfee and my Search & Destroy detected it- McAfee isolated it and S & D booted it off. The email appeared to be legit from you, too. McAfee has launched another scan to make sure, but I'll also be running Malbytes as well. Lousy little twits! All they do is waste their own precious time with their idiotic C & P silliness- guess they feel the need to waste other people's time to. TWITS!

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterKaren C.

    to/too. GGRRR!
Anon- I have no doubt this has zip to do with Dave himself- he got hacked. The emails I noted were all from really recent commentators, those were the ones displayed in the partial address field shown (I didn't expand for fear it would likely be hundreds of 'em!) These yoyos have nothing better to do with their time, evidentally. Unlike those of us who have actual lives and aren't commenting on a bizarro "blog" 90+ times a day with total inanities!

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterKaren C.

Wordslinger (Elizabeth Stahl) on the bab site admitted it.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

    Ho, ho, ho. Pathetic Twit.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterKaren C.

Ms. Stahl is stoopid for admitting it but she would have been found out anyhow. I got Canadian Drug Prices-pretty fair prices-as the site the link went to. My security, MacAffee, found nothing has invaded my computer. Geesh! What a bunch of no-life twits who have done gone so far as illegally hacking your computer, Dave.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterSherry

Sherry- Odd, my McAfee told me it was a "forgery" and just blocked it. Search & Destroy id-ed it as a trojan, I'm about to "do" MalwareBytes too. I do have the upgraded McAfee- just did that last week actually, and a good thing too.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterKaren C.

I got the email, but luckily it looked suspicious and I did not go to the link.

What a horrible thing for someone to do. Surely, you can find them by the "details" in the email. Doesn't it give the IP address of the original sender?

    September 23, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterOldCarGal

Thanks for the warning. I just deleted it, but I have heavy security from my internet provider. These people are pathetic!

    September 23, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterFrances

Dave, I had not one thought that you had something to do with this. I knew when I came to this site that your followers were targets. I took that upon myself. No sweat Dave...BUT they hacked into your yahoo account, has nothing to do with who is on your contacts. The email does have the ip it was sent from. All yahoo's do, you just have to know where to look in the code. This email DOES NOT contain a virus, so don't give them the credit. These nim wits don't know how to send a virus through email. It is not that easy. I just had hoped that I wasn't going to join the war...looks like I may now and it isn't going to be pretty because I am very good at cyber war and they would have no idea what is coming. Bring it on SOB'S and my name is TIM.

    September 23, 2010 | Unregistered Commenteranon

I did another scan and got nothing~

Suspicious is right-I've never known Dave to send out mass emailings.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterSherry

Okay, I am logged in now. Those previous comments WERE me. So the name of this person is Elizabeth Stahl? Okay got it..... I am off...didn't want to become a part of this fight but...Elizabeth Stahl. Got it. Tim

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterTim

BTW since my previous comments weren't posted yet because I was not signed in... This is not a virus. Don't give them the credit to know how to send a virus in email. They are idiots. Come on, you think they know that stuff? Right now they are all pleasuring themselves as they read these comments because that's what they do. Nothing more. This is however illegal. They did hack into your account Dave, its pretty simple. So charges need to be filed and you need the email so the LE can get the ip from it. They will then hook up with the carrier. Thats pretty simple as well. So if you have a confession from Elizabeth Stahl, they should be able to find the trail pretty easily.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterTim

anon I have one email set up just for sites I visit on the internet like this one. (had it for 10 years now) I never use my personal email address. Yep, I got it too. I told Dave one way to know if your contact list has been compromised is to put the email address aaa@yahoo.com ( @hotmail, etc) into your address book. If your address book gets one of those viruses that send out emails to all your contacts from your address you'll get a delivery failure notice from yourself. My antivirus stopped this one. It had a funny ending instead of html etc so I knew better than to open it, but since I never receive email from this site I thought Dave was updating something and clicked on it.. dummy me. Thank God for antivirus.

Dave; While you are at it. Can you please tell the FBI that they also lifted my Facebook Account and posted at Babs' Blog. What on earth are they trying to do? I could care less about them, but I sure don't want trouble down the line. I am an innocent, never commented over there, I wouldn't even know how to find her or IT. So now lI live with the knowledge that they have my Facebook and what in hell do they want with it? There's nothing there.

Good luck and I sincerely hope you carry this through. Weezie

    September 23, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterWeezie

Connie, yes I too have about 5 dummy email addys and some proxies as well. Shame you have to use a throw away email to email the owner of a site you trust.

    September 23, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTim

Well, Tim, I just consider it the "price" for using the internet. You just never know who you're really talking to out there now do you?

    September 23, 2010 | Registered Commenterconniefl

Connie, I know I have been outspoken on this, probably more than deserves really. I noticed too that some of my comments are being held back. Maybe my cuss words? I am not naive when it comes to the net and unlike what some may think, you cannot tell the color of my eyes through my ip address. LOL. So I am not afraid. Idiots just piss me off. And if I am going to be in the "club" that I didn't want to join (bab victims) so be it.

I have never commented here before until today. The only contact I've had with Dave is by email about a month ago. Today I also received an email supposably from Dave with a link. Unfortunately after clicking the link I knew it WAS NOT sent by Dave! A trojan was detected on my system after scanning. The person(s) responsible for this chidish act are more than PATHETIC TWITT'S & should be prosecuted!

    September 23, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterCloFromWisc

I assure you, Clo, and everyone else, it was not me. Thanks for your trust. I would never do anything like that.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterDave Knechel

I too received the email...I am glad I read this first and did not open the link. I hope that whoever did this is prosecuted fully. Those people at that other site need serious help!

I have a confession to make. I am not Snoopy. I am really Felix the Cat. Sorry for deceiving everyone.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

Hey Dave, don't sweat it. Don't worry about the trust thing, its the cockroaches on the net are the problem. Just imagine if all the time they use for evil would be used for good what they could do! Such a waste of negative energy.

I was wondering if anyone saw Opray Winfrey today? She had a young woman who had her identity stolen by her ex boyfriend. Because he was jealous of her recent engagement he placed an ad on Craig's list stating that this woman was looking to be used, abused and raped. This is what happened. There were 161 replies to the ad. She was never aware that this disgruntled ex boyfriend was this evil, nor was she aware of the posting. One afternoon, she came home and before she got into her home, she was grabbed from behind by the assailant, was brutually raped. I heard the 911 tape. She called even though she was still tied up. It was a horrific sound bite. At the hospital where she was treated, the Doctors and nurses agreed that they hadn't seen those kind of severe injuries on anyone who was raped before this.

    Here's the point.
    1) she survived to tell the story.
    2) The ex boyfriend and the assailant got 60 years behind bars. 3) Many of the towns people have shunned her, saying she asked for it and that the boys didn't deserve that kind of sentence.
    4) The crime scene was taped by the ex boyfriend after the crime.

She was engaged at the time of the rape. Her fiance was in the Oprah audience, close to tears himself. . This sent Craig's list in a tail spin. They have been pressured now for a couple of months to take down the ADULT ENTERTAINMENT category. This was the final straw, so they have taken down the ADULT Site for good!

Can you imagine that this could easily happen to any one of us. I think I will take down any photos of mine on the internet. It's damned crazy out there. Too many wakos for my liking. This young woman will never be the same, but she is brave enough to share her story. Take heed everyone. Too much information could be harmful to your health. Make sure your Facebook is clean of anything you don't want taken somewhere else. It's that easy to steal a photo and post it and you wouldn't even know it. Like me, I got an email from someone who posts at Dave's, saying my Facebook was showing up at Bab's. I'm not sure what to do about it. I wouldn't know anyhow, but this is just too scary.
I just learned my lesson from the show today. I'm making tracks.

    September 23, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDave Knechel

Well I got one. I did click on the link. That was before coming here. And my Norton stopped me from going there. It shows a box that the site is unsafe. PHEW! I would of been had.

I was like OH DAVE MISSES ME. HAHA. Oh great! But I figured it's wasn't actually you . I trust you enough you would never do that.

    September 23, 2010 | Registered Commentershyloh

Weezie~~that was quite the story of that poor girl. The internet will be the ruination of us all yet. It is never too late to take precautions and eliminate any personal information. I am being relentlessly stalked by both a man and a woman. The woman is also stalking Dave. It has become apparent that the man is now in cahoots with this woman and they now work as a team.

My first mistake was putting my gardening article on Dave's blog. The woman googled the name of the article and then posted my real name, and my locaton. The Babs took over later and looked up my daughter's obituary that was posted online by the funeral home who took care of her remains. I have nothing to hide but I do like my privacy. I deleted all my friends from Facebook, except one, another daughter. The Babs took my daughter's name and found her husbands web site. He writes fishing articles and had other info on his site, one being a pic of my deceased daughter. One of the Babs posted a link to that pic at their blog. It goes to show just how low they will go.

I hope that stiff laws will be enacted to curb the cyber bullies and stalkers. If that doesn't take place soon, we will see more rapes, child porn, crimes and even deaths all associated with the internet.

Weezie- That town, whoever those b*st*rds are, do not deserve her- she is too good for them, and I hope she moves the h*ll out and away from the too-stupid-for-words idiots who live there. It's a BIG COUNTRY and once the economy starts perking up again folks will be able to be more mobile than at present. Once I saw that the little but utterly corrupted town I had met my Hubby in was no longer fit for a decent person to raise a family in, and that no one there would ever cut him any slack, I urged him to consider moving on out. I hope she's able to move on and out... Remember the Big Dan gang rape in Falls River, MA, years and years ago? The case they made the Jodie Foster movie "The Accused" about. That gal stayed there in town and never got a break from those loathsome people who blamed her- she ended up driving drunk and dying one night. Too many demons...

If some people spent as much energy on say, their local park, we would have the most beautiful parks in the world. Small small minds always think they are clever. Sorry about this nonsense Dave.

P.S. Webroot is a very good security system too.

    September 24, 2010 | Registered CommenterTob

P.S.S. or is it PPS? lol anyway this kind of crap ruins the blood pressure which ruins the health which ruins the weekend. Don't let it. It is not just computers that get messed up.

    September 24, 2010 | Registered CommenterTob

I also received the email...Funny thing is, I got two. The first one was in response to a question that I had emailed Dave about (not being able to access this site) and the second one was that weird link. I do not understand how this has happened. Some of us are here to discuss Caylee's case and have nothing to do with that "other" site. I do not understand why they would target everyone that comments here. For me, this is about supporting Caylee. If supporting Caylee puts a target on my forehead, then so be it. Sad. Very sad.

    September 24, 2010 | Registered CommenterIceMistress

It's very sad, IceMistress. The first e-mail was a response from me. The second e-mail was not from me. I had a great chat with the head of computer forensics at SCSO and he gave me some interesting information which I will not discuss here. He answered my questions.

To inflict harm on other people's computers, or to make an attempt to do so, is disgusting, and I'm sorry that happened to you. All this has been done in the name of Justice for Caylee. It is sick.

Just got back today from visiting my Brothers new condo in Monroe Township. I go into my email and see marinadedave@yahoo.com sent me mail! I am ALL EXCITED thinking, WOW I haven’t been on for a while and that Handsome Dave is emailing me probably wondering how I’m doing … I open it up with great anticipation and I see an ad for Viagra! In my tired stupor I still don’t get it, so I start to think, does Dave feel I need Viagra? Did I write something before I left that would make it seem like I could use Viagra? What the hell did I last write about? As I am rushing to your site just now I realized, OH THOSE MOTHER_ _ _ _ ERS. And then … all was well with the world. Dave didn’t think I needed Viagra, although sometimes … I think I do

Sorry Dave I put myself in moderation when I first sent this because I forgot to log in so you may see this comment again.

I have email from dave@yahoo, I just joined here a few weeks ago. Who is BAB? Where can I find the person who admitted to doing this? I would like to send them a email. Who is this person and why are they doing this? Somebody fill me in on this, please. Thanks, Pam2u4u

    September 25, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterPam2u4u

Hi Dave. Last week someone hacked in to my Verizon account. My banking and auto pay info was in my account profile and they got a hold of it. Thank God I check my accounts on a daily basis because it could have been a lot worse. Needless to say I had to close my verizon account, re-open it wiith a new DSL phone number, close my payment method, etc. What a pain. I didn't receive the email you are referring to, and I know that my problem has nothing to do with you or the problems you are having with the sleeze from the other site, but it does go to show that if someone is talented or determined enough, they can obtain whatever information they want in order to wreak havoc in our lives. Take care! :)

    September 25, 2010 | Registered CommenterCarmen

Pam- Without going into a prolonged dissertation I can tell you this much about BAB. It is a whole website devoted to (wait for it!)-
HATING DAVE! They spend every waking moment (for certain individuals there that is not an exaggeration!) figuring new ways to make his life, and by extension ours, miserable. So far their actual efforts pretty much amount to nil and although they merrily post private info (often incorrect info) quite frequently, the "worst" they have managed to accomplish is to post the obituaries of the deceased children (Yes, you read that correctly) of two of our frequent commentators here. This hacking attack (which one of them did actually admit to- they are denying it now! and saying that Dave did it to himself!) is the most intrusive thing yet, but really not as bad as the other.
Their stated aim is to get Dave to stop blogging (or, in their overwrought and clearly overheated minds) to "stop ruining the trial!", obviously a huge mischaracterization of the events leading to the recusal of the first Judge in the Anthony case. Of course, what would they do without Dave to hate? They take exception to opinions, statements, etc. that he expressed two, three years ago and gleefully take things out of context to make some snide little comment on their side. You should see how they treat each other when things get too quiet.
Other than this latest and the obituary business they are almost comical in their misplaced hatred
of him- a lot of this stems from a strange jealousy, they champion another Anthony blogger who has attended some of the hearings and who they seem to feel has had his thunder "stolen" by Dave. The whole thing is bizarre beyond belief and the fact that adults are spending precious time plotting away like this is sad, sad, sad. You don't want that little posse associating your email and id info with YOU, trust me on that. They can be a pretty nasty lot.

    September 26, 2010 | Registered CommenterKaren C.

Thank you Karen C. well it sounds like they have way too much time on their hands, they could put all that energy into doing some good. I am fairly new to the internet and I can't believe the number of bullies and the mean things that are said, It's like grade school! Well I will just ignore them, if they are trying to scare people from coming here it's a waste of time. I like Dave's site and I am staying here. Once again Thanks for the info and I will see you around here later.
