Casey Anthony - A Gift That Keeps Giving

Simon Barrett will return to the Internet airwaves today as he continues his ever popular blogtalkradio show. Today’s subject?

Casey Anthony - A Gift That Keeps Giving

    1:00 PM EST

Join Simon, myself, and attorney Peter Haven, as we discuss Casey’s recent developments, including a Florida appeals court decision reducing her four misdemeanor convictions to two, plus her recent Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing. Haven represented Ron Goldman’s family during the OJ Simpson civil trial. Goldman, if you recall, was murdered along with Nicole Brown Simpson. Haven is also on the board of directors of the Ron Goldman Foundation for Justice, which helps victims of crimes.

Dave...I hope you will mention the fact that Miss Anthony has filed for bankruptsy...What ever happened to her supposedly rich benefactor...and I guess the culprit in the Treavor Martin tragedy is following along in her footsteps to raise $$$ on the net...Anybody want to get on a sinking ship???

Casey's bankruptcy will definitely be discussed, Estee. As for getting on a sinking ship, George Zimmerman has put on over 100 lbs since the shooting. Not only will that sink a ship, it is downright unhealthy for him.

I hope you can listen today.

I hope this puts an end to my drought; the funk I've been in when it comes to writing. There's a lot to do regarding the Zimmerman case, not to mention a few Casey tidbits, and I need to refocus on that instead of my own personal issues. I know I still have it in me.

I want to personally thank Simon and Peter for today's successful show. I also want to thank everyone for continuing to come to my blog, although I've not had anything to show for it for some time.

Dave~~I started to listen to a repeat of the show but lost power half of the way through. We have heavy rain here and hurricane force winds. I will listen to the show again tonight when the power is more stable. Maybe these high winds will abate some. From what I did get to hear was excellent and you all sounded very professional. Once I give a listen to the whole show, I will be able to make a better comment.

My Arias trial is in noon recess. It is out of Arizona and on Mountain standard time. Sorry I didn't get to hear your blog radio show live. This trial is consuming most of my time.

Yes, of course, you will get back in the groove. We will not have it any other way!!

[I will go back to writing, Snoopy. I have things to say before I retire my laptop, that's for sure. Good luck with the Arias case. She's an admitted killer.]

Failing that have a wee shimmy shymy two step.

    Dave as Arnie says

    Youll be BACHK

[Something is blocking me from writing, ecossie, and I will be BACK! Bach. Bahk. Baaaahhhk! I guess I'm not going to get away that easily.]

Snoops I didnt know an arias was illegal in Canada

    Hows your defense going

Did you explain you lost your razor?

[She's a tough one to defend. You, on the other hand, are not. We are all experienced with stalkers here. Headless ones.]

    January 31, 2013 | Registered Commenterecossie possie

    Dave~~Ecossie Possie is stalking me..lol

Matey, the defense is doing terrible....my razor? If you don't stop giving me a hard time, you may get a shave closer than what you expect.

Dave~~I can honestly say that today's blog radio was the best I have ever experienced. I could listen to Peter Haven for hours. He reminds me of Bill Sheaffer in the way he explains the different laws. I am VERY pleased with your performance today, Dave....you had the answers on the tip of your tongue.

You cannot take your arsenal of knowledge and go into a slump... I think today made you realize that we need you!!!

[Peter is a real pro. The only issue is that he is not nearly as familiar with Florida law as Bill Sheaffer, but both are quite interesting and well-versed. As for me, the responses came automatically. I guess I do know a thing or two about the case after all. Surprise, Surprise!]

Dave~~I hope you don't mind me posting this in here... use your decretion, if you want it to stay.

O'Mara: State unlocked trove of info from Trayvon's cellphone

[I don't know why Feb. 26 was omitted from the phone records, but my guess is not that there were no phone calls; I think the State is holding back info until the last minute under the law, which is their prerogative. This prosecution is unlike the Anthony case, but I would expect Judge Nelson to straighten out the mess on Tuesday morning. I see it no other way, but will the State automatically comply? Hmm...]

Dave~ ~the state does not want Zimmerman's trial delayed...

    DEFENDANT'S MOTION TO CONTINUE

STATE'S RESPONSE TO DEFENDANT'S MOTION TO CONTINUE

I thought that the state cannot withhold evidence that may help the defense. I think the judge will set a date for all discovery to be turned over. I expect to see Zimmerman filing for indigency very soon.

Dave~ ~re Dee Dee's age, was she 18 or 16 on Feb 26/12? This makes a difference if she was/is a minor and how O'Mara will have to go about deposing her. The one year anniversary is approaching of Trayvon being killed. Most trials of this caliber do not take place until 2 or 3 years after the crime.

Dave: I just finished listening to the radio show. I have to agree; Peter Haven is a good teacher. I like the way he explains the law.

I loved it every time you would say, "I have no sympathy" for her....meaning the killer. Thank you for stating your thoughts about Morgan and Morgan. I was thinking the same thing. The reason I don't think they are doing this for publicity or money is because they are the most advertised law firm I have witnessed and their pockets are deep. I think they want to MAKE Casey explain Caylees' death in her own words. If Zenaida (spelling?) is awarded monies; power to her; but I don't think she will ever see it.

I can't remember the name of the couple that the Anthony's surrounded themselves with. IMO, the couple came across as gypsies like the Anthony's. IMO, they taught the Anthony's how to play the charity system(s) to hide, funnel and retain money. Where do we all think the killer is getting her money?

Speaking of money. Thank you for the information about Baezs' book. It didn't do well? There is a God.

I also agree with you about people not paying the killer any attention! If I had a magic button I would block every person from "clicking" on any stories about her albeit computer or T.V. It would drive her nuts. Then, she would do something else criminal (she thinks she's wearing teflon) to get her name back in the media. Do not think for one second that her parents don't enjoy the spot light either.

I have to disagree with Peter Haven when he stated that he thinks in some years to come that she might be asked or want to pose in Playboy some day. Hugh Hefner has already stated that he would NOT ask the killer to pose. Some other smut magazine may welcome her. (It's just too gross to imagine.)

Really enjoyed the show. You were on top of your game. Please, please start writing again. You are sorely missed. (I don't know the specifics of your accident or whatever happened; I do pray you're doing better. Accidents hurt your feelings, your mind, your body and your wallet! But hey, you're still here!) You hang in there Sunshine!

DAVE: This was posted by the NY Post under a Huffington Post slide show:

"Not Guilty as Sin" -NY Post (Slide Show - 9 of 11)

Still fresh in the minds of many and not to easily be forgotten, the trial of Casey Anthony turned Orlando, Florida into anything but the "happiest place on earth."

Following a series of lies, misdirection and manipulation by then-22 year old Casey, Caylee's skeletal remains were found five months into the investigation, setting the stage for what could only be described as the most incessantly publicized and shocking trial in recent memory.

The media had a field day that went on for months: Highlighting the young, pretty, party girl image used against her in court as the prosecution tore apart an aimless defense--or so it seemed.

After resorting to throwing her family under the bus, incriminating people entirely made-up ("Zanny the Nanny"), and fabricating elaborate stories for the police, Casey was found not guilty of murder due to evidence deemed mostly circumstantial and not meeting the burden of "beyond reasonable doubt," inciting much debate regarding whether true justice was served.

(What do you think? I think it's spot on.)

Sarah~~the gypsies were Sherry and Dennis Milstead. I wonder who they are conning out of money now. Remember that $30,000 Extreme boat? It was only used for fishing trips that Dennis took George out on. Dennis made a nice profit off that boat. I did hear a rumor that Sherry finally left Dennis.
