Zimmerman in Custody: Second-Degree Murder Charge Filed

There you have it. The most damning evidence to date, as far as I’m concerned, came from the interaction he had with the police dispatcher, which was recorded and released:

    1) He got out of his truck to;

    2) Pursue the victim

In my opinion, his major mistakes were that he carried and discharged his weapon, ignoring the edicts of the Neighborhood Watch program, and he ignored the dispatcher’s advice to stop chasing after the victim.

On the recording, he admitted both.

George Zimmerman turned himself into the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Orlando attorney Mark O’Mara will represent him. You may recall that O’Mara was the first legal analyst to join WKMG during the Casey Anthony trial. (And he continued to be.) Mark NeJame later joined the team. O’Mara is well-respected by everyone, including me. He’s a very likeable, respectable and respectful guy.

    May justice prevail.

I completely agree, that if George Zimmerman had at any time announced who he was and why he was following Trayvon Martin, the confrontation or whatever came about those last few minutes Trayvon would not have shown any resistance (supposedly running, etc.) and may have even felt "safer" out there. Therefore, I believe this needless killing is totally on the action of George Zimmer from the first moment to the last. If Trayvon pulled skittles out of his pocket, waist band or whatever, he only would have been trying to show or say where he had been or what he had. This might have even happened as he saw George Zimmerman had a gun on him. It will be interesting to find out about how close the gun was to Trayvon.

You are absolutely correct, New Puppy. This whole mess could have been avoided had Zimmerman used his noggin. Instead, he profiled the kid from the start. By that, I don't necessarily mean racial in nature, but he said this guy is up to no good and he's on drugs or something. He convinced himself that Trayvon was a threat to the neighborhood. Had Zimmerman not been there at the time, Trayvon would have delivered his candy and life would have gone on. Why some people don't understand that is beyond me.

    Conniefl sez:

Not once did I hear GZ say "I'm the neighborhood watch captain. What are you doing here?" That might have given him a simple answer instead of what happened.

ITA. When Trayvon walked past him while he was in his SUV, it would have been the opportune time to decently confront Trayvon as to why he was in the neighborhood and to introduce himself as the watchman. If I were on the jury that much would play a huge part in his guilt or innocence. I picture Zimmerman acting like some covert spy relaying a message to the Chief as to what the suspect was doing-"he's eyeing me now." Why not find out why he's eyeing you? No, just let him walk on by because it would be better to "let him get caught in the act." JMHO~

Did any of you nice folks read this

Looks like a lot of contradictions between what we know from the Z 911 call and what he told Chris Serino. On the Z 911 call we don't hear any exchange of words between Z and T when Z reports that T approached him in his truck and 'checked' him out. So the 'alleged' exchange should have happened later.

For that to be true, the following should have been the sequence.

Z returns to his truck after his 911 call at 7.13 PM and sits there waiting for the cops to show up. T finishes his call with GF at 7.16 PM, decides to comes back to Z ( who is no longer stalking him ), provokes him with the conversation as stated in the piece and runs away ( why would anyone do that ? If I am looking for trouble..I provoke it, stand my ground and fight the fight. If I am not looking for trouble, I keep walking. I can't be both. )

After this Z goes after T who is running between the houses, gets confronted by T , gets his head beaten to a pulp, manages to pull out his gun and kills him before the cops arrive at 7.17 PM. Sounds like a lot that needs to happen in one minute. Especially if you consider that on the 911 call which captures the gunshot, there is atleast 40 seconds of crying for help before the shot is fired. If you consider that it took some time ( time enough for Z to pace back and forth ) for the cops to arrive, it leaves T less than 20 seconds to walk to Z's truck, have his exchange, provoke Z and bait him to the spot where he was found dead.

Also, if I just escaped great injury to my head and just killed somebody, I am not pacing back and forth. I am sitting there dazed. IMO, The pacing, renactment with Daddy at the crime scene is all part of a coverup. Both Daddy and son know exactly what they are doing.

It is only if you are lying, you leave a lot of holes ot be filled. If you are telling the truth,

Excellent, skalathil! This is the way I've felt for weeks. Zimmerman's story does not add up and I've said so several times. No matter what, some people insist on believing every word that came out of his mouth. There's just no way Martin approached his pick up truck or, you're right, it would have been on the 911 tape. Thank you! I'm writing about this and several other issues that are bothersome to me.

The piece linked above has a ton of details we haven't heard before. I completely understand now why Sharpton et al were brought in. The intransigence of the Sanford PD brass made that phone call by Crump a necessity. Zimmerman saying to himself "What just happened?", if true, really is quite the tell....

You sure are right about that, Karen. Skalathil's link is a must read for all who are interested in this case and the whole picture.

Skalathils analysis shows great thought. How true, how true, "Lying leaves a lot of holes" We can't really "make up" truth! Only make it sound like truth, leading so many to simply rely on the spoken of respectability of someone who "would never lie" . We use respect to not further question someone in authority and that alone sometimes causes us to not see more truth.
