    For Michelle

I had a rather busy Saturday this past weekend, but before I go into that, I want to clarify a couple of things. One, Jeff Ashton is aware of my contest. There are no hidden agendas whatsoever, so don’t be afraid to enter. Two, the original media reports focused on the Hoffner Avenue bridge as the location where Michelle Parker’s cell phone was tossed and discovered after police received a tip. That information is incorrect. It is the Nela Avenue bridge location, and I made the correction on my Over Hell and Dale report. The maps now reflect that change. Sorry for the confusion.

On Saturday morning, I drove to Costco in Winter Park to have copies of Jeff Ashton’s book signed. You know, Imperfect Justice… the one I want you to win. From there, I drove down to the area where Michelle Parker’s Hummer H3 was found on November 18, the day after she disappeared. My trusty iPad GPS app guided the way to the 4700 block of Walden Circle, in southwest Orlando. While there, I had the opportunity to speak to several people who actually live in the immediate neighborhood. On the outside perimeter, I asked three or four men if they knew where the vehicle was found and what, if anything, did they know about it. The consensus was clear about where it was found and two of them stated that they had seen the Hummer parked in proximity of that spot 3 or 4 times over the past month. They said, because of her tanning business, she may have had a customer living on that side. They told me they had been questioned by law enforcement and that’s what they told them. If true, it could point to someone other than Dale Smith II as the perp. On the other hand, why would someone in that complex be involved and point evidence their way? The men all agreed that they had seen the vehicle with the “GLOW Mobile Airbrush Tanning” decal clearly visible. This time, they said, the decal was gone.

When they pointed to the spot where the Hummer was found, I drove across the street, parked my car, and walked around. Several men were sitting on their small enclosed porches. I asked them what they knew. I told them about the men across the way and what they said. They showed me exactly where it was found, and a couple of them told me there was another black Hummer that used to park toward the back area as the apartments (or condos/townhouses) extended inside the perimeter.

    HUMMER FOUND HERE

    AREA WHERE OTHER HUMMER PARKED

My real point of Walden Circle and what I found out is very important in one sense. Dale and Michelle had been broken up for a fair amount of time by then. How would Dale know about the Walden Circle location unless he was stalking her? Or if she had this very customer while they were still together, as in long-term, why wouldn’t the witnesses have said they saw it over a longer course of time than a month? Something isn’t quite adding up as far as I’m concerned.

After I left the complex, I drove to the intersection of Vineland and Conroy Roads. On the southeast corner is a patch of woods, and on Vineland, there is a utility road into those woods that’s used to access two elevated billboards. If I was in the neighborhood looking to hide evidence, there’s a place I would consider, so I decided to take a look. Don’t let the overhead view fool you. The brush is a lot thicker in there, as the photos will show.

    LOOKING INTO WOODED AREA

I didn’t investigate further because of the tangled brush and, well, the place just gave me the creeps. I left.

What an Incredible Outpouring of Support

From there, I hopped on I-4 and drove up to The Barn in Sanford, where she tends bar. I milled around snapping photos. There was a $10 admission charge and all of the gate money was to go to Michelle’s children and family for search efforts. [This could be a legal issue if Dale Smith II demands the money as father of the twins.]

There were plenty of vendors plying their goods, and they all donated a percentage of the take, mostly 50%, to the same worthy cause. There was food, music, clothing for sale, a bounce house, face painting and more. Lots of fun! I didn’t hang around too long because I’m not much into large crowds any longer and my health cuts into the amount of time I am out and about. I stayed for an hour or so, and when I left, the nice woman at the gate answered “at least a thousand by now” when I asked her how many people were there. I was really hoping for a second wind so I could return, but it just wasn’t in me. Anyway, the festivities continued until 2:00 am after it was moved inside around early in the evening. Not only was the parking lot filled with people, the very large bar also held quite a few. There was a silent auction that you could bid on all day, with donated goods and services, and highest bids picked that night. There was a truck tug-of-war and other challenges, including a cornhole contest.

    SILENT AUCTION

Like I said, I wish I could have spent more time at The Barn, but by late afternoon, I was beat. Yesterday on the local news, one station reported that at least 2,000 people showed up. The event was a huge success, in other words. Now, if we could just have the same success with Michelle, she’ll be back to her bar this week, waiting on her loyal customers.

    NEVER GIVE UP!

Thanks for the new article and all the photos, Dave. I really appreciate your work, as it gives us the feel of being there.

I just don't know what to think about the men saying they had seen Michelle's Hummer there in the past month. Did the men on the porch also say they had seen the Glow decal on the Hummer? I have to think about this.....

Hi, Lindy - My philosophy is that the more you know, the better we can sort everything out and make sense of it all. If I can make you feel like you are there, you get a much more personal view of everything.

As for what the men told me, it is what it is, and they insisted it was true and that's what they told the police. However, the other guys said there was another black Hummer that parked more inside the complex, but it went thru the same entrance and exit. BUT! The first dudes told me they had seen the GLOW decal those times and the other Hummer did not have that.

That's all I know, but it's a pretty good piece of evidence, if true.

Dave~~ I want to commend you for helping the little children to have a toy under their tree. What a great idea about offering Imperfect Justice in a prize draw in exchange for a toy. You have a heart as big as gold and I just wish there were more people in this world just like you. God Bless you, Dave. BTW, that is a great pic of you and Jeff.

Thanks, Snoopy, that's all I want... to help make children's Christmases a little bit brighter. The bottom line is to only help children. I wish I could get everyone an autographed copy of the book, but there's no way I can do that. Oh well, someone is going to win.

    You really like that pic?

Dave~~the makings of a good investigative reporter is 'curiosity' and always trying to connect the dots. You have both. You took some great pics and it makes this case a little more realistic when we can get up close and personal.

I honestly do not know what to think at this point. I have many questions but I am afraid that Law Enforcement probably have all the answers and are not about to divulge them to the public and rightfully so.

I really felt like I was in my element on Saturday. I am not afraid to ask questions, either. If I get answers, then great. If I don't, I change it around a little and go back from a different angle. I think the response about seeing the Hummer more than once is quite compelling. I didn't have to force anything out of them, either. Well, I couldn't have anyway. What they told me was freely given.

Dave, great picture of you and Jeff Ashton. It is so nice of you to do the contest for one of his books and for a gift to be given to a charity for a child.

Thanks for the great pictures you took on Saturday. It makes me feel like I am right there with you as you are traveling about to these different areas. It is nice to be able to see the different areas you have been to and talk about. I am sure that Michelle's family and friends appreciate your writing about this and getting her picture and information out there. I wonder if Dale Smith knew that she had a customer where the hummer was found and thought that would be a good place to leave it. Why not put suspicion on someone else if possible. It is nice to have you back to writing and keeping us up to date with all of this.

Ha, Mary Jo! Photoshop works wonders, but the charity contest speaks for itself. I wish I could do more to help children in need, but at least this is a way to do more for them than I could do by myself. I hope everyone who enters donates a toy.

I've got to be very honest with you, that camera's a dandy and I'm going to take pictures everywhere I go from now on. I happen to believe in a two-handed approach to my craft... or is it crafts?

A picture is worth a thousand words, and a word is worth a thousand pictures.

I don't know if the Parker family is reading my blog or not, but I have talked to Michelle's sister and best friend, and they did read my first post, so yes, I hope I can help. Thanks, it is nice to be back writing, too. Or is that two? To?

Dave~~I do not think that the airing of Michelle and Dale on People's Court and her disappearance, both on the very same day, is just a coincidence. That program could have caused flash backs and opened up some nasty old wounds. Anyone who already had anger management issues may have gone off the deep end.

You know, Snoopy, one thing really puzzles me about Smith. If he thinks he is God's gift to women and he idolizes himself, would he be so stupid to do something even more stupid on the same day as his court appearance? God knows, he had to have watched it since it fed his monstrous ego, but would he have done a dumb thing that would point directly at no one else? The only response is that he didn't do it or his temper took charge and unleashed a brutal response. Brute force versus God's gift to the universe. You decide.

I think we need to find out if Michelle was the only person that drove the Hummer.

    Good point, Lindy.

Thanks for the effort an time your putting in Dave,,,I hate to say this but she bears a strikeing resemblance to Casey Anthony,,,Maybe someone else thought so as well? The land were Caylee was discovered would be a good place to search if some vigilane made this afull stupid mistake.

You are quite welcome, ecossie. The only resemblance I see is the brown hair. Of course, neither one is bad on the eyes, but that's where it stops. They are polar opposites from there on. By the way, I went to those woods because of the way Caylee was disposed of. If the perp was smart, he would have dumped her into the intercoastal (or intracoastal) waterway and been done with her, but the fact remains that her cell phone must have been an afterthought. That tells me this person did not make real plans. I may have been an opportunist or someone whose temper just snapped. Hmm?

    Hi Dave,
Tks. for photos. It's wonderful to see so much support for Michelle. LE is not fooled by Dale S., I think it's just a matter of time before an arrest will be made. I
just hope he can keep his rage under control until then. He sounds scary!

I think this was a well planned abduction. However, I think her body will be found
    eventually.

    MB

Hi, Mary B. - My pleasure. I enjoy taking pictures and videos to show you what I see. As for OPD, I know they are being very diligent and careful. The person responsible will be arrested, for sure. As for well-planned? I don't think so. Disposing of the cell phone was not good planning because it was found. Not only that, but it was in a convenient location. Convenient in the sense that it was between Dale II's and Dale Sr's homes. I do agree that she will be found one day, but when? I hope it's not years.

I feel pity for what happened to Michelle! She's beautiful and young, and she has a great life to live! I admire the support of all the people in your place to solve this case.

Hey, Bro! Don't we all feel badly for what happened to Michelle? It's a crying shame, and I'd really like help in any way I can. Thanks for your comment. Y'all come back, now.

    Hi Dave

Thanks for the personal insight into the case, far better than main stream press reports. Very interesting about the Hummer potentially being in that place on account of a mobile tanning client. If something has happened to Michelle then the last person I want to be responsible is the twins Dad. To lose both parents would be tragic for them. Plus I don't think they would have enough mirrors in prison for poor Dale. Other potential possibilities are a bit of hope.

Love the picture of you and Jeff Ashton. You look like a million bucks. Great taste in shirts. And what a good cause the book contest is for. I hope people donate.

Hello, Tiffany! I love your comment about not enough mirrors in prison. Hah! There's no hiding his huge ego, that's for sure. As for my own personal insight, I do try to write in a manner that brings readers right into the story. Of course, at the same time, I've got to write things in a compelling way and that means asking good questions when I can.

Thanks for loving the picture of Jeff and me. I look like a million bucks? You mean a check, right? Not cash? Uh oh, that check just bounced!

The whole idea of the book contest is to do exactly what you said... donate! I hope a lot more children enjoy Christmas this year, and that's all that matters.

I've had enough time to think about Michelle going to spray tan a client after dropping off the twins. According to her sister Michelle was supposed to be going directly home after dropping off the twins, to have a nap, meet her new boyfriend for dinner then go to work. I mapped and roughly timed that out and without deviating to spray tan a client that would have been an ambitious plan. Foregoing the nap and seeing the client is a possibility. Doesn't explain why Dale Smith Jr remains the focus of investigators though, when by now they would know via phone records if Michelle had a change of plans that day.

After searching both Michelle and Dales records on intellius the closest relative I could find to where the Hummer turned up was 3.1 miles away, a 9 minute drive.

There was a mysterious murder at those apartments about a year ago that I found via google search.

I'm fresh out of ideas for now. I just don't know. Hmm, have they searched Casey's trunk?

I don't think Michelle had any change of plans because she would have called someone in her immediate family to let her 11-year-old son know about it. While those apartments/condos/townhouses/whatever, in Walden Circle are not high class, they aren't low low budget, either. If she did, in fact, have a client there, she wasn't going to see that person on the day she went missing.

That's very enterprising of you to research this case. I did hear something on the news last week. Some other crime took place in the 4700 block neighborhood of Walden Circle, but I don't remember what it was because I didn't think that one and the Hummer were at all connected. Hey! Keep up the good work. We may solve this mystery after all. Thanks.

Dave, you don't state in your article, but did the men say at what time of day the Hummer was seen at the Apt. complex prior to Nov. 17th? Do we know how many nights a week Michelle worked at the Barn? Was it the same schedule each week, or did her times vary?

I remember hearing from a family member, I think Yvonne, that Michelle was very careful about her clients for the Glow tanning business, that MP wasn't stupid. I'm sure LE has checked out her client s.

Michelle may have had a stalker, but on Nov. 17th, how could that person come in contact with her after the 3:18pm time? It was Michelle's constant habit to be home or on her way home to meet her 11yo son, who gets off the bus at 3:45. She told Lauren, I believe, that she had planned on going home to catch a nap before meeting with Nathan Mitchell for dinner and then heading to work to start her shift at 7:30. There is no time for a Glow client in there.

Dale is the one that stated Michelle was going to go shopping. She didn't tell anyone else that was her plan. Dale's timeline changed. First he told MP's family members that she left around 4:00, well past the time to meet her son. That they talked for 10 minutes and they both left the condo at the same time. Then Mark NeJame tells us Dale's timeline, 1 hour 12 minutes from the time Michelle arrived until Dale arrived at his folk's home at 4:30. And it seems to me that the one word text "Waterford" fits well with Dale's shopping story.

I can't help but think that Dale is THE person that caused Michelle to vanish. I think he broke her neck at the condo, soon after she arrived. Why? Because he was taught how to do that in the Marine Corp, it would be little effort from him, quiet so the twins heard nothing and a quick death, he did it from behind so no sign of struggle and no defense wounds on him and there would be no forensic evidence left behind for cadaver dog hits or blue star illumination. He quickly put her body into some sort of nonporous container and left in the Hummer to dispose/hide her body temporarily before dropping off the twins at Dale Sr's home. He then went back for the final disposal, ditched the Hummer at the Apt. complex and either walked back to his folks or they came to get him. (I feel Dale's folks are covering for him due to their actions and no contact with Michelle's family) He was then driven back to his condo to get his truck and returned to his folks home. Once LE called him and asked him to meet them at his condo, on his way back, that was when he powered down Michelle's phone at 8:00 and then tossed her phone over the bridge a little further down the road.

Just my thoughts and theory on what happened.....subject to change if we EVER get any info from LE. But.....Dale has been named primary suspect by LE for a reason(s), we just don't know what they are yet.

The men didn't tell me because I didn't ask. I didn't get the impression that any of them paid that much attention to detail, so I didn't want to press too many buttons or have them second-guess what they thought they knew. By all accounts, the police did go through the neighborhood knocking on doors for clues. All I could do was to touch the surface, but at least I did garner some information. Whether it pans out or not is anyone's guess, but most assuredly, OPD took it into consideration.

I agree there could have been a stalker; someone who knew she went to Walden Circle and was also aware of the other Hummer; the one without decals. This way, her vehicle could have been the other one. In any event, and I neglected to mention this - all of the first witnesses I spoke to agreed that it's not every day one sees a Hummer, and that made it stand out like a sore thumb. At least, from where it was parked.

Your scenario seems plausible except for one thing. Dale would not walk back to his parent's house. Potentially, hundreds of cars would have driven by him, even at night, to escape unnoticed. Aslo, he would have to have crossed over the I-4 overpass in order to make your theory work. That means stopping and standing during traffic light changes and once again, a perfect target for potential witnesses. Now... if he had an accomplice, that would work, but would his family have helped him? We just don't know, but I would like to think not.

I would like to find out which side of the bridge the phone was found. Coming or going? That's a key piece of evidence, as well. I'll work on it.

Just thinking on motive for Dale murdering Michelle.  It may be a combination of things....the PC show and Dale's inability to keep current on his child support.  Dale was in California for at least Nov. 5 & 6th for Rancho Obi-Wan’s Grand Re-Opening.  Not a cheap trip, imo, but if he used monies for that instead of paying child support, I can see a fight erupting over this as well.

On http://www.myorangeclerk.com/enu/Pages/orange-county-clerk-of-court-home.aspx   Case No. 2009-DR-009738-O  the last action taken was  08/18/2011 Notice of Need for Redirection.  I don't see where redirection was actually put into place, but I don't have any legal expertise, so maybe the notice for need of redirection was all that was needed for monies to be taken from his pay???    Maybe it wasn't and Michelle threatened DS that she would further pursue the issue and the loss of his DL would also be in jeopardy.....and his play time.  I think Michelle was taking control of Dale, and that wasn't going to happen as far as he was concerned. jmoo

Police: Michelle Parker's Cellphone Yields Clues

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orlando's police chief said the investigation into the Michelle Parker disappearance remains active.

Chief Paul Rooney said investigators are getting leads from the discovery of Parker's cellphone. The lead detective in the case said they're still busy and optimistic they'll find answers for the victim's family.
"It's still priority No. 1," Rooney said.

Lindy~~the link you posted is much better as I see WESH has added a video and updated it with more info. Thank you very much.

A low wattage light bulb just went off in my head. Here goes...

How do we know that Dale was home when Michelle went to drop off the twins? The surveillance camera shows Michelle arriving but not leaving due to the camera angle. If Dale was not home, Michelle would have phoned him. He could come up with some plausible excuse why he wasn't at home. He was attending to an emergency of some sort at his parents home and would head back to his condo. Michelle could have said that she had a client out that way and it would be better if he picked the twins up there because she had to be back home for her son and it would save her time if Dale met her instead. Michelle meets him and he forces her into his vehicle. Was Michelle's Hummer unlocked when it was found? Keys still in the ignition? This would put the Hummer in the location it was found and was driven there by Michelle.

Lindy, will we get this solved before LE does? I am not much help but do have an imagination. LOL

    Edit....

Okay, it's me again... my time line sucks. I don't know if Michelle's son has a house key and lets himself in to wait for his mom or just goes to his aunt's ( who supposedly lives handy) when his mother is not at home. Help!!!

    December 13, 2011 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

Snoopy, You pose a good theory, but at this point we only have Lauren telling us of Michelle's plans and we have Dale backing up the part of Michelle arriving at his condo, they spoke for 10 minutes and they both left at the same time. I think we have to wait to see what her phone tells us as to where she went. I hope that info comes soon. Patience is wearing thin.

    December 13, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterLindy

Dave, your posts are in very good perspective, they open up for good discussion and theory, some so very interesting in how minds work and dig deep for the purpose of hoping to help find Michelle and in searching the mind of how a perpetrator might carry out a crime. In following investigative procedures while not jumping on with totally pre conceived judgement based on our suspicions even though they may be correct. I think the investigators are doing a good thing in not letting every aspect of evidence be released too soon. I'm sure we all have learned a lot from following the case of little lost Caylee and how desperate everyone became from being so heart filled in wanting her death avenged, In a way, as we participated we also wrangled and muddied with much of our over the top goings on. From that, I wonder if we contributed to not having true justice concluded for Caylee. Also, I wonder if Caylee may be a part of our better conduct in conversation with the hope of Michelle being found. Taking offences in an all out battle with others doesn't help the victim. yet. that is what an innocent child's murder can bring out in all of us. Personally I admire your manner of following this case in the most respectable way to benefit this probable victim of violence. Also, your posting pictures brings us right into Orlando's area as they did before, which is very very much appreciated and you are right, enlarging them really makes for a better viewing. Good reading here Dave. I have only followed this story of missing Michelle as your blog started up and I am getting all the information that I know is trustworthy from your posts. As always, you are a very warm and compassionate heart.

Thanks, New Puppy, I'll come back in the morning and add more to mt response, but I am just dog-tired tonight.

This is better... Good morning, New Puppy! I do try to maintain neutrality when I can, and I welcome everyone's opinion as long as they don't get nasty or too far out into space. I value what people have to say. I really do think you're right - that law enforcement learned a big lesson during and after the Anthony debacle. As long as the investigation is left open, the sunshine law doesn't apply and they can withhold information from the public. I also think that what has been released so far has been calculated to put pressure on Dale.

Do I think that we, the public, participated in the collapse of the trial seeking justice for Caylee? No, not at all. The state of Florida released all of that information and it was sucked up by a world looking for that justice. Blame the state, not us. We did what people do in cases like this. We are an inquisitive bunch, hungry for evidence and we were provided with tons of it. Too much, actually, because we blurred fact from fiction. I did my best to keep a semblance of sanity by separating the two. When I could, anyway.

I rally do like to bring pictures into the mix because it shows you what is what. I plan on shooting a video this weekend, if I am up for it, from Goldenrod to where the vehicle was discovered. That way, everyone can see for themselves what the timeframe actually is. Everything I write will be as forthright as possible, while maintaining as much fairness to both parties as possible. Right now, my concern lies in the welfare of Michelle's children. As for Dale II, he needs to be treated fairly, too, and Michelle's perpetrator needs to be brought to justice.

As always, New Puppy, I really do appreciate you and your thoughts. Thank you for just being eho you are - an honest person who recognizes honesty in others.

    December 13, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterNew Puppy

Lindy~~so if what Dale said is true that he and Michelle both left at the same time, he must have loaded the twins in his vehicle along with their things and was off to his parents.
Mark NeJame said Dale arrived at his parents around 4:30pm. Of course, Dale may have taken the twins to McDonalds for a hamburger and fries. That would kill a half hour. Ahem!

How far is it from Dale's condo to his parents also the distance from Michelle's to Dale's? I hope the GPS on Michelle's phone was engaged and forensics can retrieve the info. I want to see an arrest made soon so the Sunshine Law will come into play and we can see some evidence.

Wow, Dave & Y'all! GREAT WORK all around. I feel like- here we are, back at the races again! Dave, are you familiar with Edna Buchanan's work? She was with the Miami Herald for quite some time, before starting in writing both fiction and nonfiction using Miami as her backdrop. "The Corpse Had a Familiar Face", hard to beat a title like that.
With the introduction of another black Hummer we certainly have an interesting new element. I wonder if she backed in to park? If the decals were visible from the front of her vehicle?

Hi, Karen! No, I am not familiar with Edna Buchanan's work, but I think you are hinting that I should do so. I will! I must say her name is familiar, though.

The Decal(s) were on the rear window of her Hummer and not anywhere else that I am aware of. While this is fast becoming a national story, it will never reach the level of the Anthony case. This one will come down to an arrest or it will go cold. No circus in other words.

Thank you! I agree, there's some great work from great contributors, and I appreciate every bit of it, including yours.

    BTW....Snoopy you are welcome.

Because I registered my name has been changed. And is there a way that I can make my links go directly to the page, or is that done only by mods? TIA

Lindy, I am not a mod in here. I use the HTML code below this comment box to post my links. I am not sure if I can put the code here where you can see it. I had to email it to the contributors of my blog who wanted to post links. I can always mail the code to Dave and he can send it on to you.

    Edit...
I can't even break the code with an asterick so you can see exactly how it is done if I put the code in here.

Great photos and post Dave, good work ladies. LE has not said if the Hummers interior was wiped down or if the prints were smudged on the steering wheel and doors. That info would help me in knowing that Michelle drove Hummer to its location or not. No prints or wiped clean then she probably did not drive it there. Also if I lived in Florida I would be certain to dump a body in an alligator pond. There are so many to chose from that I don't understand why there are bodies ever located.

Thank you, cali patti! Next time I embed the photos on this blog, I will save them at a higher resolution and still link them to larger files. Each photo was actually 65 inches wide, so if they were blown up at that scale, you would have been able to see nose hairs on some of the people.

I don't know what clues the Hummer has yielded, but it would not be unusual to find Dale's inside and out. The steering wheel could be key, but I'm sure the perp didn't leave any there. One of the interesting things about alligators is that they drag their kill (or whatever they find) to the bottom to rot before eating, so bodies have been known to float up to the surface as they bloat. No, it's not a pretty sight or something to envision, but that's the nature of the beast. At the same time, you're right, gators would do the trick most of the time.

Nice to see you back in your element, Dave! I personally hope no case will ever turn into the chaotic mess that surrounded the CA case. I feel so sorry for Michelle's family, especially her children. Their lives will never be the same; because another person cared so little about the impact of her death (I firmly believe she is dead) on her children.
Now that her cell phone has been found, it seems that they will be able to triangulate Dale Jr's cell phone pings as compared to hers, during the hours in question. I would assume LE has subpoenaed his records, along with anyone else they might suspect might be involved. Other than while she was at his residence, there is really no reason they should have been in the same place at the same time following the drop off of the twins. Vicky

Hello, Vicky! It's good to be back in my element, too. I 100% agree that this one will never match the Anthony case in sheer lunacy. That one was a perfect storm - a tidal wave, a blizzard and an earthquake rolled into one. Sadly, the family has come to realize the truth; that Michelle won't be coming back, and that's a real shame.

I wish we knew more about the evidence, but we don't. One of the reasons why the prosecution never brought cell phone pings into the Anthony trial was because they were too vague. I hope that's not the case here. One of the things I want to find out is about where her iPhone was found. Was it on the north or saouth side of the bridge? If it was on the south side and Dale's pings show that he was heading west that day, it would mean someone else travelled that route. Of course, it would have to be contingent on the fact that he never drove west on that route until after the phone was found, if that makes any sense. He would have had to thrown it out the passenger side because of left-hand driving in the U.S., unless he veered into the other lane.

I still maintain that whoever did it had an accomplice because no one would have walked away from Walden Circle, where the Hummer was found, unless they live there, which I seriously doubt. I plan on learning as much as I can about this case, and I really appreciate your comment. Thanks, Vicky, it's a long way from the mess that Ca Ca made.

According to Tony Pipitone, Michelle lives with her Mom on Guy Court Geneva, Fl.

That's what I heard a couple of weeks ago, but I failed to mention it here.

When it was first reported that Michelle's phone was found, it was immediately brought up how strange it was that this phone was in "good shape." That's because the phone was missing for a month. If the iPhone had been under water for an entire month, wouldn't there be some oxidation or other damage? Forensic investigators have been combing over the contents of Michelle Parker's iPhone 4, and it's quite apparent that they've garnered more information for use in either finding her or building a case against someone—whether it be their prime suspect, Dale Smith, or someone new.

Well, Snoopy, technically, it was under water for 3 weeks or whenever it was tossed into the drink. From my understanding, it was partially submerged and found along the bank. Of course, like the bridge, that's subject to change. It may have been on land more than in the water, and weather and gravity moved it closer to the edge. Also, we had severe rain that, as it drained into the water, helped push the phone down. Anything is possible, I guess, but has anyone thought of the integrity of the phone itself? I mean, after all, it wasn't just a phone... it was an iPhone!

    December 15, 2011 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

Could it be that the phone was thrown there at a "later date" than the day michelle became missing. I mean maybe it was held on to for awhile until it was decided they should get rid of it. Could fingerprints still be detectable, not that they would be good evidence but it seems if someone other than Michelle handled her Cell Phone they would show up best. I can never imagine that Michelle threw her own phone out in a place like that. Haven't followed closely, just thinking.

Yes, New Puppy, it could have been thrown into the water any time between 8pm, Nov. 17, when the phone powered down, and the date it was found, 3 weeks later.

Ahhh, Thanks Dave for the info on alligator eating habits. It was something I did not know and now my visual knowledge is complete. Teasing you!
I do not think that Dales finger prints would be in the Hummer, not the way those two were fighting. Just don't believe Michelle would let him near her car, not even to unload twins. Maybe on one of the car seats, maybe, but not in the front of Hummer or near the steering wheel. be no reason to have his prints in there. Just my thoughts....

Let me just say that I would never want to swim with a gator, and they are always found in and around bodies of water. By in and around, I mean they won't wander too far unless their appetite necessitates it. I have seen them strut across major thoroughfares before, but I don't want to think about hitting one.

You're probably right about the Hummer, but I don't know what their relationship was like on the day she disappeared. I would think if she brought something heavy, he may had put his hands on the vehicle. I would think LE would expect to find his prints on it.

    What exactly does this mean?

As for the only suspect in the case, Rooney said, it was a tactical decision to name Dale Smith II the primary suspect, and part of the investigative strategy.

About when Michelle's phone was found.....we really don't know for sure when it was found.

We know that it was found by a LE dive team, supposedly due to a tip.
We know that Michelle's family was called in to identify it on Dec. 7
We know when it was released to the public that it was found, Dec 8.

Maybe it was found earlier than we think. Maybe what was found on that phone was the reason for subpoenas for questioning at the States Attorney Office, which for Dale's mom, was Dec. 7 and Dales dad, Dec. 8. (This is after their home was raided and searched on Nov. 26th). But I would think that the subpoenas for them had to have been served by Dec. 6, at the latest, to give them some notice. That's 9 days after the raid. If the Smiths had refused to answer questions the night of the raid, do you think it would take 9 days to subpoena them to get some answers? I don't. Maybe more notice is given, IDK, I've never been subpoenaed. I could be really wrong on this, let me know, ok?

LE is so tight lipped, but something makes me think this phone was found earlier than we are led to believe. It was also stated when the find was made public, that investigators said that phone forensics analysis can take a few days. The only thing we know that came off her phone, is a photo of herself, and I firmly believe that was to let the perp know that they could retrieve info from the phone. It's been a week now, and we have no further info. And I don't expect we will learn whatever else is on that phone until an arrest is made.

I think the only reason we know what we do regarding the phone, is because LE told her family, (whether immediately or later on after discovering it), and there was no way they could hide their emotions.

Just some thoughts of mine and I could totally be way off on this.

I think the tactic has been to flush Smith II out. Little snippets of sound bites (or is that bytes now that we are in the digital age) to pressure him. No, we don't know when the phone was found other than the date the divers were in those waters. We do know that Michelle's family was called in to identify it on Dec. 7. In my opinion, that was the date it was found because the police would want to know if was her phone or not, pronto. No time to waste! And they wanted to send it out for testing ASAP, too.

I think LE has to bite their lips until things fall more into place. For instance, the phone may yield answers, but Michelle's phone records would have to be subpoenaed, and that may take time we don't really consider. Of course, that's merely my way of thinking and I have known to be wrong.

    December 15, 2011 | Registered CommenterLindy

It looks like she had a case of some sort on that phone. If that's one of the Otterboxes, it likely stayed in pretty good shape. I LOVE mine, and it has saved my Iphone innumerable times.

Dave~~if I didn't know better, I would swear that Rooney must be watching our RCMP. Getting info in this case is like trying to haul hen's teeth.

The last 'known' person to see Michelle alive is Dale Smith. This is a good reason for him to be named the prime suspect. Until they come up with someone else who had a visual of Michelle, Dale is number one.

I am waiting for that press conference of an arrest being made. Who will it be is anyone's guess?

psst... I think the Anthony case taught LE to play things close to their vest or is that chest?

    December 15, 2011 | Registered CommenterSnoopySleuth

Dave~ ~ would LE have just cause to subpoena Dale Smith's phone records and make him turn over his cell phone or could NeJame, as his counsel put the kabosh on that?

I'd be inclined to say (fervently) that LE would have no problem subpoenaing his phone records and/or examining his cell phone as part of the investigation. His counsel should have no problem because it could help to exonerate him if he is truly innocent.

In my opinion, his cell phone records are not as important as the locations of his phone at crucial times, and for that, LE would have to subpoena his carrier.

Of course, I won't swear by this, but I'm pretty confident.

Father of Michelle Parker suspect arrested on drug charges

Dale Wayne Smith Sr., the 64-year-old father of the suspect in the disappearance of missing mother Michelle Parker, was arrested on drug charges on Tuesday, records show.

The elder Smith faces charges of sale or manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis less than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Circumstances of the arrest were not immediately available. The sale or manufacture charge is a third-degree felony, and the other two charges are first-degree misdemeanors.

Smith is the father of Dale Smith II, ex-fiancé of Parker and father of her twins. He has not been charged, but police have named Smith II the sole suspect in Parker's disappearance.
