Happy Thanksgiving, Dave! I hope you are feeling well enough to enjoy the feast day. I hope our friend is home with her girls, too, for the holiday.
Enjoy the Holiday of Thanks, everyone! We do have much to thank our God for!~
And Happy Thanksgiving to you, Sherry! Thank you. I am definitely feeling well enough to partake of the day's bounty, thank you. I don't have an appetite like I used to, but I will definitely enjoy it.
Dave~ ~Here's wishing you and everyone A Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thank you, Snoopy. I plan on eating and watching football and it can't get much better than that!
Happy Thanksgiving Dave and everyone! I hope you all enjoy this blessed day with your family and friends.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Mary Jo! I'm planning on enjoying the day and I hope your day is just as good. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Dave! And, everybody, be safe and stay alert if you're heading out tomorrow. An employee of ours was hit head-on by a drunk driver just last night- our guy's OK, they checked him out at the hospital, but the other one was ejected and didn't make it. So don't drink and drive and wear those dang belts that come with the dang cars!
Happy Thanksgiving Dave and everyone!
Dave I have just reached Order In The Court, chapter 17 of a book I am reading and lo and behold you are in it.
Wishing you a day full of happiness.
Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes, Tiffany!
I have the book, but I've yet to read it. I've been too tired lately, probably from the operation. I fall asleep very easily and if I read, it puts me right to sleep. However, someone did alert me to the chapter that mentions my name. Yup, both my real name and Marinade Dave. That was mighty nice of him, but I still don't think Judge Strickland needed to recuse himself. I understand why he did, but it wasn't necessary in my opinion. Anyway, it was great that Ashton acknowledged me. He could have just said "a blogger" with no further identification.
All these years and today is when I learned that Thanksgiving is an American celebrated day and other countries do not acknowledge it, except Canada. Also learned that France gives employees a month long vacation. Funny Spain wouldn't celebrate Thanksgiving since it was their man that found us. Not a bad idea, having a month off, people can really plan a very nice time to enjoy themselves instead of a couple days here and there. I also learned that one can eat too much on Thanksgiving Day. It was so nice to sit with family and discuss all their adventures, most old enough now to start talking about the little bad things they did, likes and dislikes, etc. Very nice even though some family was not here and very much missed. Hope you all had a very enjoyable day also.
Yes, New Puppy, it is strictly an American holiday. Thanksgiving in Canada is observed on the 2nd Monday in October, but both are celebrated for the same general reason, to give hanks for a bountiful harvest. My niece and her mother live in Berlin, Germany. They get (I think) 3 weeks off and I believe it's separate from personal vacation days. They just get the time off whether they want it or not.
Yes, one can eat too much on Thanksgiving Day. Despite eating less than I could have, my stomach is acting today like I ate a feast. Perhaps, it means I will have to adjust my diet to reflect the missing gallbladder. Anyway, I'm very happy you had a wonderful day with your family despite the missing few. That's what holidays are all about, especially this time of year. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
