Big Day in O'do
The Trial of the Century?
January 2011 marks the official countdown to Casey’s May trial, which will absolutely be the trial of the year, if not the decade or century. Century, I guess, because it’s still very young, and unless another one comes along with all the trappings of OJ, it may retain that ignoble title.
It should prove to be a pretty heavy hearing in the courtroom today. The defense wants Judge Perry to hear 22 motions, but the judge has the final word. Will all 22 be heard? I seriously doubt it. In any event, I plan on attending. I will bring something to eat, just in case my sugar drops. I might try to sneak my spare laptop in. If I do, I will be able to comment on this post directly from the courtroom. Call it an interactive experiment.
By the way, O’do is a slang term for what city? Yup, you got it.
Feel free to comment here about what transpires. If I can answer questions online, I will do my best, but remember, I will be taking lots of notes, so don’t feel snubbed if I don’t get back to you right away. You should be somewhat used to that by now, what with all my family’s health issues and all.

Will it be a Catch 22?

Hi Dave! Happy New Year. Looking forward to the hearing today, and looking forward to seeing you. Today's hearing should prove to be very interesting. Make sure you don't forget to bring something to eat as I don't want to see you pass out or feel light headed.
Take care and God bless!
Hi, Carmen - Happy New Year to you, as well.
I plan on taking pancakes with butter and syrup. I already made arrangements to eat them during the break. They are bringing a table up to the 23rd floor, just for me! I'll sneak my camera in and get some shots.
Just kidding.
Hey, God bless you! Thanks.
By the way, I will try to let comments out of moderation if I am successful at getting online. If your comment remains stuck, it means I couldn't get online.

I'm inside the courtroom. I don't think I'll be able to comment much.
Casey looks very tired today and almost out of it. I am sure that the closer we get to the trial the less sleep she will get. Looks like JB got his hair cut.
I can't see Casey's face. The judge is angry with the defense missing deadlines.
It sounds like excuses from Mason, not something the judge will accept.
Red Huber is photographing Jose's nose hairs.
Dave, I watched you as you were busy taking notes. LInda Drane Burdick did not object to alot of the inane motions filed so it sped things along. It was good to see Judge Perry put the kabosh on Mason's unnecessary ramblings. Thanks for putting the link to my blog. For some reason my posts will not show on the Casey Anthony page of Wordpress. I look forward to your write up on the events of today.
Dave, what's the word on your father, first of all? I'm concerned. Is he alright?
Secondly, you sure were writing your fingers to the bone, during the hearing! Can we expect an article soon?
Poor Baez, he sure got a lashing, didn't he? It's about darn time! Perry will probably be merciful though, and should he decide to sanction, only require one of the three dollars an hour Baez is being paid to represent Casey, at this point. lol
I hope all is well with you and yours.
Happy New Year everyone!
Dave, we're patient. Family first. Blog second, or third. Whichever. Keep us posted. It was such a pleasure speaking to your Dad. I think of him often, and will keep him in my prayers.

Hi, Feathers, it's very nice to hear from you. Happy New Year! I didn't want to say where my father has been because certain people will attack the hospital with filthy, disgusting lies.
I'm glad you got to talk to my father. He really enjoyed that conversation. Thank you for caring.
Dave, I am so sorry to hear that your father is so ill, and of course I don' t expect you to say where he is. Just tell him that "Feathers" is thinking about him, and when he's up to it, perhaps I will call to wish him well.
Sorry Dave, but speaking to your father was quite an enjoyable experience, even under the circumstances. He has one of those really wonderful senses of humor, and he surely does appreciate you! Take care, and please note that with so many posting as "Feathers" these days, on various blogs, I've been laying rather low and just observing. Laying low makes it easier to go back to blog owners and have them check the IP's if I'm not so all over the place, you know?
Hang in there, Dave, and God be with you all.
Thanks, Feathers. I will make it a point to tell him you wish him well. I edited some of the content and removed some of my responses. I really don't think we should ever bring those nubs up on this blog.

I can't wait to hear details. What was Mason mumbling about bloggers? I rewound it twice but I still couldn't understand him.
I didn't know you were left handed. :)

Hi, Diana! Some of Mason's mumbling wasn't clear enough to hear by me, but I will watch the hearings again on the videos. Maybe I'll pick some of it up that I missed.
Yup, I'm left-handed for sure. When I was young, my teachers tried to put the pencil in my right hand, but I didn't want any part of that.
You know, you're right, Snoopy, so I won't say that joe h weighs 300 more pounds than me. Sometimes, I need to be scolded because we shouldn't stoop to their level. EVER. Well, we never could, for that matter.
Thanks for those video links.
Happy New Year Dave and friends here. Wishing you the best. Baez got the old smack down today. It was priceless.
Dave hope all is well with your father. Blessings to him for a speedy recovery. HUGS
Hi Dave,
I agree with Snoopy, don't give those jerks the honor of being mentioned on YOUR blog. They are nasty and the more free publicity they get the more they enjoy what they do to you. Take all the legal actions you can against them though!!!!!
Prayers for your Dad!
Thank you, shyloh, and I wish you a very happy new year, too! Yup, the defense was popped in the head today, and I will be writing about it. Unfortunately, I have so many family obligations right now, it puts a damper on my writing. Thanks for your good thoughts on my father. HUGS to you, my friend.
Thanks, apeach123. Snoopy and you are right. I'll go take them down.
Happy New Year, Dave! Gee, I haven't talked to you since last year...
Saw ya at the hearing-hoo boy! It was a good one, imo. TTYL when you get your post up about today's hearing. {hugs} (please forgive me-I forgot to sign in! argh! ...so "today" will be yesterday...geesh!))
Thanks Dave!! I am looking forward to your write up but there is no rush, if you have other obligations.
Family comes first.
Dave,
Although this is not the section to comment I stopped here last if that makes any sense. I truly offer you my condolences of the passing of your Aunt and it seems that she had a profound impact on your life so you get to take that with you every day. But I wanted to comment on something you said up-thread about being left handed and what you went through in school and thought I would offer to you my experiences.
When I was in school the teachers viewed those with left handed tendencies as a form of retardation (I don’t know if it was a similar circumstance for you?) so my teachers, with more success than yours, tied my left hand behind my back and was taught to write with my rights hand. This was about 1st and 2nd grade and I was pretty good but when I reached 5th/6th grade it would be determined that left handed people were not mentally disabled so I started writing with my left hand. Curiously I still exhibit the characteristics of a right handed person. I can still write with my rights hand, but not as elegant as I could do when I was in high school, and when it comes to sports I am predominately right handed however I can bowl with both my left and my right. I play guitar only right handed though but what I find most unusual is that when I write I write like a right handed person and the paper has to be sideways in order to do so.
